South Dakota is worse than Florida

I used to say “worst place west of FL” but now I think it’s genuinely worse. List is digs and bitching.
1Sallie Ford and the Sound Outside
Untamed Beast

All my friends are long gone, either moved hundreds of miles away or just turned out to be trash people. I don’t even know anyone here anymore outside my direct family and my ex-fiancée. She got a new boyfriend who LOATHES me for no reason other than I used to sleep with her; he’s never even met me. Side effect, I love her dog more than anything in the world and I barely get to see him anymore.

EndEx

The job market here is insulting. My regular gas station has had a sign on the freezer door saying “Now Hiring 3rd Shift *Up To* $16” for months now. Even management positions are literally paying $17.50 hourly. I’ve crunched the numbers, and to be able to even afford a studio apartment I’d have to make at least $20.
3Bent Knee
Shiny Eyed Babies

The music scene here is a pile of hot garbage. We at least have Angerot if anybody knows them, but every other metal act is so terrible and uninteresting that it’s painful. My band broke up a year ago as of last week, and we haven’t been able to find new members in that entire time. The local metal bar booked Trapt this year TWICE.

Slamaholics, Vol. 2

I’m completely unable to move anywhere worth going. Rent is too high plus I have cats, and I can’t afford to buy anything with the market the way it is. I’ve tried getting credit, a loan, even borrowing against retirement, and nothing works or is enough.

That! Feels Good!

The house I’m currently living in is on a corner pushed right up between an elementary school and a Methodist church. I have 3 times as much sidewalk as my neighbors, all of which is my responsibility to scoop when it snows 14” every winter. My house is on a small hill, so the melt runoff refreezes into inch-thick sheets on the sidewalk I have to chip off. I’ve been slaughtered by city fines over this. My landlords refused to replace my central air, and there’s no bathroom ventilation so I’m developing a mold issue. But again, I have no option but to stay here.
6Xysma
Swarming of the Maggots

I like this album and I like the number 6. There’s more nuances to the situation than all this, but yeah, this is more than enough for the internet.
