Agh, Sleep

I should be sleeping, but I'm not. So here's a dig list.
1Various Artists
Dark Was The Night

Ok, what can I say but this is amazing. Like, absolutely brilliant. To have just a taste of the best flavors of indie out there, I'm head over heals.
2The Sawtooth Grin
Cuddlemonster

Ok, so I don't listen to much Grind, but The Sawtooth Grin are sick. It's really technical, spazzy grind, maybe lacking in substance but makes up for it by just being in your face and awesome.
3The New Pornographers
Twin Cinema

Can't believe I waited this long to pick this up, Twin Cinema is just euphorically upbeat and lovable indie rock that you can't not like.
4My Brightest Diamond
Bring Me The Workhorse

Singer/Songwriter, dark, sprawling expositions, Sharna Worden will drag you deep, and it's a beautiful place to be.
5Neko Case
Middle Cyclone

Ex-The New Pornographers singer Neko Cake's solo outing. Increadby solid folky acoustic sounds, Neko knows how to write a song and keep you in it.
6Dan Deacon
Bromst

It's Dan Deacon, except even warmer and more brilliant.
7The Decemberists
The Hazards Of Love

I really like what the Decemberists have done here, taken a turn to a more folky, acoustic sound and everything here seems a little bit more down to earth and laid back - even if they've lost a bit of their distinctiveness along the way.
8Anatomy Of A Ghost
Evanesce

Post-Hardcore brilliance, so glad I picked this up, these guys sound The Trophy Scars, but heaps better. They broke up in 03 and went on to form Portugal. The Man.
9Trophy Scars
Bad Luck

Despite my swipe at the scars above, this is MUCH better than I expected, the band just seem so much more in step and focused than any of their previous outings.
10Karoshi
Karoshi

Imagine if Kid A was hopeful. But still brilliantly textured, warmly electronic and absorbing. This is Karoshi.
11Smog
Knock Knock

Lo Fi acousitc indie, hell yea! For any fans of The Microphones or Iron And Wine, Smog's Knock Knock is a quirky, intimate and ultimately beautiful exposition of what a man, a guitar and some vision can do.
