| Christian Motherfucking Alvestam
I'm loving everything i've heard that he has been a part of. I'm
pumped for Solution.25
whenever that comes out. Any other noteworthy bands that
include him? These are the 6
albums i've heard that include him ranked btw. | 1 | | Unmoored Indefinite Soul-Extension
Wow. I'm surprised this only has 5 ratings on sputnikmusic. Any of the site's metalheads will eat this
up.
It's essentially melodic/progressive death metal but with a lot more punch. Kind of like if Edge of Sanity
were...edgier (HA!). The synths give this album a moderately eerie atmosphere as well. Definitely check
this one out, I may review this with school being almost out. | 2 | | Torchbearer Warnaments
Alvestam plays lead guitar on this album, instead of his usual vocal roles. Like Unmoored, this is a lot
heavier than his work with Scar Symmetry, there's an almost black metal feel to some of the
riffing/vocals.
Amazing album. | 3 | | Scar Symmetry Holographic Universe
Definitely my favorite Scar Symmetry album. It is easily their most solid and consistent release. Plus, the
title track and the two Ghost Prototype songs are easily among their best songs. | 4 | | Miseration Your Demons Their Angels
Has grown off of me a bit since my original listen, but it's still a very strong death metal album.
Christian is
at his best vocally on this album, at least concerning his growls. My only gripe with this album is that
along
with many other great death metal releases, there is very little variation. That doesn't stop this album
from kicking ass though. | 5 | | Scar Symmetry Pitch Black Progress
This album has a lot of Scar Symmetry's best songs, including The Kaleidoscopic God, Carved in Stone,
and
Deviate From the Form. However, most of the shorter tracks seem like filler to me. | 6 | | Scar Symmetry Symmetric In Design
I only just heard this yesterday, and was pretty impressed with it. However, the production irks me
slightly
and other than the obvious highlight "Chaosweaver," not much truly stood out to me. This will probably
grow on me though. | |
