Banion 07.18.10	The autopsy results wont come back from 4 to 6 months, a few things were ruled out they are fairly positive it was suicide, and I am positive it wasn’t, and it wasn’t trama (I.e. didn’t get hit on the head). Ill tell you guys the full story. His mom and step dad went to a concert in Calgary, he tagged along, stayed in the hotel texted me and his dad. His cell died his parents came back to the room he was in talked about the concert brought him some food, said goodnight, he asked to barrow his step dad‘s cell to text me goodnight so he did and gave it back. His mom closed the doors separating the couch he was sleeping on from their room, she went out at about 12:30 said goodnight to him, he put his headphones on and died about an hour later in his sleep. They went to wake him up at about 9 am and he was in the exact same position.

SeaAnemone 07.18.10	It almost feels kind of cheapening, commenting on this over the internet when I realize that I never even really knew the guy. I mean, we talked occasionally exchanged some great recommendations, but when it comes down to it you can't know anyone THAT well on Sputnik, and I hesitate to comment on such a tragic event like I knew him personally, because I really don't want to insult someone that was lucky enough to, like you Banion. On second thought though, it's insane how much peoples' true personality really shines through over Sputnik, even in trivial conversations or music taste. Based on these things alone, along with the way you regard him Banion, it's pretty clear that Brandon was a great guy-- not just in reference to Sputnik, but infinitely more importantly, in real life. I'll always remember YouAreMySilence by his fantastic knowledge of post-rock and his passionate willingness to spread this knowledge, and also turning me onto a few of my now favorite bands, like Sleepingdog. Anyway, sorry I blabbered on, I hope I don't overstep my obvious boundaries, but I wish I could have known Brandon and not just YouAreMySilence, because I think it was pretty clear, even just from something like his Sputnik account, that Brandon was an interesting, fantastic guy. I'm very sorry for your Marina, I hope you're coping well, and RIP Brandon.

Banion 07.18.10	I spent alot of time thinking of whether it was apropriate or not to make this list, he wasnt given the chance to say goodbye to everyone and just because no one here ever met him doesnt mean they dont have the right to know or greave. Its not cheapening at all. This is a community he was a part of just as much as anything in the actual world. After he was at the hospital for that while he came here for advice, and he could tell people here things he would never feel right saying face to face. Much like anyone on this site does. He spent ALOT of time here and valued every opinion because lets face it, not many people we will ever actually meet listen to GY!BE or Sleepingdog. There are no boundries you could over step.

Zoo 07.19.10	It sounds like some type of freak cardiovascular accident like an aneurysm. I've haven't talked to him too much recently but I'd be extremely shocked if it was suicide. I remember I used to chat with him fairly often back when he was a new user but I've lost touch since the beginning of last year (which I now regret). We used to exchange recs every so often and he's the reason I started listened to Damien Rice, Iron and Wine, and countless other artists. I think if someone is able to consistently change the way you look at something, or introduce you to something new that you end up loving for the rest of your life, they will always be with you in some small way and now I know exactly who I'll think of when I listen to certain artists. I'm rather surprised at how much this news is affecting me right now but I guess he had that effect on people. He was a real down-to-earth guy and one of the few users that pretty much maintained the same, consistent character throughout their entire time here, which usually means that that's how they really are. Even though I didn't know him beyond the internet, he was one of those people who you knew you'd really get along with if you actually knew them in real life. That speaks to him, his character as a person and how he always treated other people with the same amount of decency that he would expect them to show him. I strange how people like us, people who spend a significant amount of time online, tend to forget that all the other users are people too. We sometimes say things to other users that we wouldn't ever dare say in real life, just because we never have to face any repercussions and we always have the safety of relative anonymity of the internet to fall back on. We forget we're not android-like programs designed to generate responses based on our input. We forget that behind every computer screen, keyboard, and mouse sits someone with over-priced and over-sized headphones just like us and it's a shame that it takes something like this to realize that. As Eric said, it's impossible to honor the memory of someone on the internet, let alone express my deepest sympathies, especially with a means as inadequate as a comment but I can honestly that say I speak for everyone when I say he will be sorely missed and, if nothing else, take solace in the fact that you do not grieve alone.

I have lost someone recently too in a hard situation where I wouldn't know if it was suicide or not and this really, really is a weight on the mind. I didn't know him personally but due to the situation you described I can say I doubt it was. It was just one of those unfair, sudden losses that no one can control or even prevent. Please don't hesitate to open up to your friends and loved ones and never question that he's in a happy place and was surely a loved kid if he gained this much affection from a bunch of internet personalities.
