| Top 10 Bands
A list of my top ten favorite, and most influential bands/musicians. | 1 | Lagwagon
Joey Cape is one of the sole reasons I care to make music, and his best work is in Lagwagon, in my opinion. Lagwagon's catchy, and well written style of punk rock, and melodic hardcore music melt me. | 2 | Bad Astronaut
Also being another band that is fronted by Joey Cape. Bad Astronaut's song writing is compelling, and they are the band whose musical style of alternative rock, and indie rock music have shaped my entire style of playing music. | 3 | Joey Cape
Joey Cape's solo work is some of my favorite, his songwriting is my favorite, and I have a deep love for acoustic music. He is who my own acoustic music sounds most like, he's been a huge influence. | 4 | Tool
Tool's music is amazing, it's technically brilliant, and it's beautiful in it's own way. Not to mention Maynard James Keenan has been a big influence of mine, and I just simply love their music. | 5 | Thrice
Thrice in my opinion has some of the best range I've ever heard, and Dustin Kensrue is one hell of a singer, also their songwriting is very deep on their later works especially. The Alchemy Index: IV Earth possess two songs that I consider to be my favorites just as written music. | 6 | The Early November
Their album The Mother, The Mechanic, and The Path is one of my all time favorite records, I spent three or four days listening to nothing but disc two and three over and over. Songwriting also plays a big part in why I like them, Ace Enders can really touch his listeners. | 7 | Strung Out
Their music is fast, aggressive, but still manages to stay melodic. There isn't allot of depth to why I like them, but they're one of my favorites. | 8 | Bad Religion
Greg Graffin is one my heroes, He's a punk rock musician, and he has a Ph.D. in Evolutionary Biology. Their music is also very compelling, and I love it. | 9 | The Cranberries
All of their music is beautiful, that's the reason. | 10 | Dustin Kensrue
Thrice's frontman's solo work is amazing, it's very close structurally to the songwriting style I use, and it's all beautifully written, and easy to listen to. His voice is one of my favorite, and the only reason he isn't higher up is because he doesn't have allot of solo material released, but his album Please Come Home is enough to have him part of my top ten. | |
