Bicepman4000 top 10 albums

I seen someone else did this, and I wanted to do the same to not only post it but explore my favourite albums and put them in an order.
1Slayer
Seasons in the Abyss

Man, it is hard to pick a number one, but here it is. For me, only one weak track (Born of Fire), this album has all the highs and lows of a heavy album from the brutal opening of War Ensemble to the almost delecate sounds of Dead Skin Mask. One to pump me up, drag out of a depressed mood, or take out some anger...
2 Tool
Aenema

This album is in the its second wind for me. It was my initiation to Tool, and still has some of my favourite Tool songs like 46 and two, Eulogy, and Aenema. This album lead me to a different range of listening, and dispite the filler is a standout of the 90's.
3Deftones
Around the Fur

More refined than Adreniline and not as pompus as White Pony, this is Deftones' high point for me. I absolutly flogged this album for so long, but moved on as I grew older. Still a great album with ageing qualities. Standout tracks; My Own Summer, Be Quiet and Drive, Head Up.
4Offspring
Ignition

Something different in my listening, Ignition is another album I can listen to unbroken. Tracks such as LAPD, Burn It Up, Forever and a Day show their class. Like Around the Fur, Adreniline sits inbetween earlier rawer material, and their newer sound. I also flogged this album, maybe the first album I listened into oblivion.
5Ministry
Psalm 69

NWO and Just One Fix are up there in my favourite songs of all time, but unfortunatly half of this album is filler. The reason this sits so high on my list is its history for me (got it in my early teens) and the influence it had on my listening taste.
6Pantera
Vulgar Display of Power

Not many weak tracks on this one. Dimebag's guitar work is awsome, Vinnies drumming brutal, Rex's bass of note, and Phil's vocals the best mix of the hair-metal seen on CFH and over-gruffness on GST. Standouts; Mouth for War, Walk, Regular People, By Demons be Driven
7Fear Factory
Demanufacture

If you listen to heavy music, this album must be on your top 10 list. Diamond in the rough as far as Fear Factory albums go, only brief highlights for me on their others. Self Bias Resistor, Replica, and Hunter Killer are the standouts on this one.
8Smashing Pumpkins
Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness

If you were out of nappies in the 90's you have this CD. Tonight, Tonight and 1969 are absolute classics. Zero and Through the Eyes of a Ruby are personal favourite of mine too. On a double CD you could expect to see some filler, and there is plenty here keeping it out of the top echolon of the list. Deserves a spot here again because of history, I was listening to this at the same time as Psalm 69 (which won out).
9Static X
Wisconsin Death Trip

Now if you are looking for an album to pump you up with dumb lyrics and catchy music you have come to the right place. Push It, Bled for Days, Sweat of the Bud, and The Trance is the Motion are my favourites, but this is another album you can put on and not have to worry about skipping tracks.
10Insurge
Power to the Poison People

I doubt many people will have heard of these guys, but they are Australian and had a burst of minor popularity in '96. It took me years to find the album, and once I did the rest of the songs were as good as the ones I had heard. If you get a chance check this out, meaningful lyrics with good music. Standouts; Speculator, Timb Bomb, Another Day, 51%.
