Midnite Vultures
I know I should praise another album from Beck. He's got a pretty impressive catalog but I keep coming back
to this one. It just feels like the most cohesive, approachable cd from the man, imo. I use that album to
cheer me up, it's just got such a good groove to it. pretty danceable too. |

Razorblade Suitcase
(Some sort of) Grunge with a progressive edge. Nobody cares about song 13, but Distant Voices is among my
top 50 songs ever. This is filled to the brim with great poetry too. |

Fashion Nugget
Greg Brown play the guitar like noone else (and he's the one who wrote 'The distance'!). McCrae is one of
those poets nobody will ever aknowledge as one. And, you know, there's trumpet. It's just great. Especially in
a car. I think a like every single track, which is rare. |

Until Your Heart Stops
I listened to it so much the cd will skip in almost every song when played in a cd player. But I can't throw the
disc to the garbage. Even the packaging is great. It's so solid, so emotional, it's got a dry feeling to it that's
jsut perfect. I'm glad they're sort of back in that genre. |

Another album that cheers me up all the time. imo, it's pretty creative pop and the singer's unique, albeit
imperfect. All sorts of ideas thrown into the mix, it feels fresh. Honest effort. Too bad they already split. |

I had to pick up a Zorn album. I love is klezmer side and this album is a great dose of what he does best. |

Les Creatures
Nobody here knows about him, but Katerine is France's 'Poet terrible' and this album, recorded with an
orchestra and a vanguard jazz trio, is just incredible when you add Katerine's far out poetry onto it. |

Midnight Boom
Because some people still know how to rock old school style. I know I perhaps shouldn't have picked up their
Danger mouse-produced record, but it just feels more rewarding than their two previous efforts. I might switch
to Blood Pressures soon enough. |

Bamnan and Slivercork
What's up with that album? It feels a little sloppy, it's kind of cryptic lyrics-wise and it's been recorded by a
bunch of guys who all studied music at the university? The dreaminess here gets me everytime it's like I'm a
snake being charmed. There's something about that album, and yet they gave it for... well. |

California
Once again, I had to pick something from Patton's wild catalog. California appears to me as one of his
tightest efforts. Even though it's weird, it's no Disco Volante and no Delirium Cordia. Pink Cigarette works just
every time and so does Ars Moriendi. Mr. Bungle at its peak. Original, unique, and very-well performed. |

Khmer
Where jazz becomes something more. And something complety awesome. An album that makes you travel
unknown worlds. Timeless, I predict. |

In Utero
Very Ape and Milk It marked my teenage years. Like, forever. I don't know how such a sloppy guitarist and
notorious drug addict could pull out such anthemic songs (I'm talking about the whole catalog here pretty
much). I can't get over nirvana, I'm very nostalgic, can't help it. |

Blackwater Park
Another record that reminds me of my teenage. Opeth is unique. The musicianship here defines my tastes
for what is of the metal field. Their ability to switch from soft to hard and stay cohesive and so euphonic
leaves me speechless. Too bad they lost their drummer he rocked hard, one of my favorites. |

Clumsy
Yes, well... Big Dumb Rocket, Superman's Dead, you know. It's just good! It works! I'm still listening to that
once a month and it ages well. Taggart is a great drummer and Maida's voice is unique. I even love its silly
theatrics. I love it even though it's big shiny tunes material. |

I don't even like Dntel. And I don't even like DCFC that much. But this, this is the beauty of science: mixing
two things that you wouldn't think will do anything special but then you get rainbows and firewors and stuff.
Give up to that album. It just makes you feel less alone. And the world somewhat looks nicer after listening
to it. |

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
It should have been one-disc thing with maybe an outtakes disc at some point later in their career because
this album is wayyy too long and inconsistant, but they're still some killer riffs and ideas here. 'Bodies' rocks
hard. Zero is great. You gotta give it to Corgan even though he's a jerk. |

El Oso
There's just nothing like Soul Coughing. It's unique. It actually reminds me of Cake for some reasons
(relationship theme and the whole poetic aura, among others) but here it's jazzier, and more intimate. A bit
crazier too. Great texts. |

Wire Post to Wire
Top 5 albums. How come nobody knows about that album? It's so well crafted. Putnam has such a unique,
broken, soulful voice. The way the songs evolve and mutate, it's so beautiful. An album that aims straight to
the heart. |

Oxeneers Or The Lion Sleeps When Its Antelope Go Home
I like how angular TSSA is/was. Their albums are always packed with ideas. It needs a little concentration but
it's always rewarding. Sometimes I hope Snere could actually SING, it would have definitely pushed the
boundaries of the band and would have opened them to some great territories. Too late. |

I don't like BMSR that much, but that! It's unique. I appreciate the respect Fec is solely on analog gear for
that album. It sounds like nothing else, isn't that what we're all looking for in music? Idiosyncratic, groovy...

I keep thinking this is the best material WP can come up with. Well yeah, it's got some pretty prog accents,
but imo it's still very easy to take in. It's a very colourful album filled to the brim with ideas that just sound
sweet and organic. |

The Warning
Another nerdy record but you can actually dance to this one (if you dare dance). I don't know much what to
say, I drove myself to listen this album too many times. I still enjoy it a lot though. Among my sunniest
albums here. |
