| Solitary Confinement
Deciding what music to take away with me on a week alone is the hardest decision I've faced in a long time. First world problems suck. Going for a week on a deserted coastal town where my grandmother grew up. Looking for recs! Sputnik, you have six hours.
List is recentish digs. | 1 | | Delusion Twin A Damaged Machine
Seriously, this rules. Huge shout out to Puzzles. Will be reviewing this when I get back. Chino Moreno had sex with Trent Reznor to create Puzzles. | 2 | | The Jezabels Prisoner
Great local band. Community radio station whores these guys endlessly. See why now. | 3 | | Crone Endless Midnight
Was expecting more from Caxide, but nice mood music. | 4 | | La Dispute Somewhere at the Bottom of the River
How have I not heard this before? Eagerly awaiting their next. | 5 | | Faith No More Introduce Yourself
Underrated as fuck. Their best behind Angel Dust IMO. | 6 | | The Black Angels Phosphene Dream
Nice music for a drive. Not too heavy. | 7 | | PJ Harvey White Chalk
Holy shit this is awesome. | 8 | | Jehst Return of the Drifter
High plains drifter, smash ya transistor. Great underground rap from the UK. | 9 | | Deerhunter Microcastle
Also another great listen. | 10 | | Bjork Homogenic
How had I not heard this before? [2] | 11 | | The Fall of Troy Doppelganger
Needs more delay pedal. How post-hardcore should be done. | 12 | | Evan Brewer Alone
Being a bassist, this album makes me feel sexually inadequate. | 13 | | Reflux The Illusion of Democracy
Tosin and Brewer need to do another album together. | 14 | | Bliss N Eso Flying Colours
Another great local band. Love these guys. | 15 | | Crosses EP
Nice, laidback. Was waiting for more Team Sleep. This'll do, sonny. | 16 | | Touche Amore Parting The Sea Between Brightness and Me
Not as good as ...To The Beat, but still. Missed these guys a few weeks ago. Not sure if upset. | 17 | | Sage Francis A Healthy Distrust
Great lyricism. Intelligent; on par with Aesop and Eyedea. Production is slick too. | 18 | | Mono You Are There
Awesome album. Mono are out here next month, along with about six other bands I want to see. Doubt I'll get the chance. Sadgasm. | 19 | | All Shall Perish This Is Where It Ends
Great deathcore for a deathcore mood. Not as good as the past two albums though. | 20 | | Guitar Party Birthday
AOTY so far. | 21 | | Carbon Carousel The Some of All Things
Eyedea goes grunge. Sexy! | 22 | | The Dillinger Escape Plan Option Paralysis
Bought this on vinyl, tweeted about it, Puciato thanked me personally. Loving this album. Probably seeing them when they're out here in January. | 23 | | Cocteau Twins Treasure
Awesome band. They're quite obscure these days, unfortunately. I know a guy who has a signed letter and photograph from these guys from the 80s. | 24 | | Circle Takes The Square As The Roots Undo
Took me a while to get into, loving it now. | 25 | | Dirty Three Ocean Songs
More great local-ish music. Loving it. Self-explanatory. | |

09.23.11 | A complement from silentpotato!? Shit, I must be doing good. Yeah, I noticed we tend to have fairly similar taste when it comes to eclectic music. If there's one album I'd reccomend off that list, it's Birthday. Seriously. It's so good. I'll try to get to a few of your recs soon! Jodis has been on my list for a while, other than that, they're all names I've heard a few times but never looked into, so I'll definitely be having fun with them.
@clercqie-I love it too! I thought the title was appropriate.m | Butkuiss
09.23.11 | I actually payed for it myself; I'd been given an iTunes gift card for my birthday (I do not comprehend), and I like the other stuff the guys in the band have produced (It's pretty much all of Carbon Carousel, and half of Face Candy), but it sounds like nothing either of those bands have produced. Dreamy, noisy, blissed out avant-prog is really the best way to describe it. | Butkuiss
09.23.11 | Double post alert. But yeah, it's an amazing album, and it's also the last recorded work of Eyedea (played guitar for Guitar Party), whom I love, so either way, it's amazing. Plus, I like supporting underground music, even if they get next to nothing from Apple.
As for your recs; I'm in love with Chelsea Wolfe and Ulrich, and I already loved Xavier. You sir have extraordinary taste in music. | InFiction
09.23.11 | Love the description for 1 and 22. Both brilliant listens as well. | Piglet
09.23.11 | Woah someone knows about Bliss N Eso? | Apollo
09.23.11 | very diverse list
Rosetta - ADOM
Year Of No Light - Ausserwelt (if you get nothing else, get this)
Daylight Dies - Dismantling Devotion
Minus The Bear - Highly Refined Pirates | Eulogize
09.23.11 | Surprised to see 19 on here. | Acanthus
09.23.11 | Can't really rec you anything, but best of luck just the same it sounds like a serious alone time. | Trebor.
09.23.11 | More Bjork |
