11.16.11 | 1 and 10 are the only ones I know, but they do rule |

11.16.11 | Yea... even though Dir en Grey are one of the later visual kei bands (they later toned their image down LOTS), I have heard influences of them in various modern-age visual bands, especially from the Nagoya parts. And X... they are visual legends lol |
AsoTamaki
11.16.11 | Good stuff. That re-recorded Luna Sea debut was one of the best rock albums this year.

11.16.11 | Yeaaa man. Luna Sea give me constant eargasms lol. I still dont think Color get enough recognition though. |

11.16.11 | Same for BT.. |

11.16.11 | Yeah, Color is way old school. That's why. A lot of these other bands got started back then, but most of them stuck around longer and kept putting out new stuff. Like Buck-Tick had a song in a recent anime even. |

11.16.11 | Thats true. Its just that... it seems all people know or remember BT by is with the "Dress" single. I dont know... they just seem highly underrated to me. |

11.17.11 | Xeno: I highly disagree. Although visual kei does have its place in glam, it's influences also range from hardcore punk, death metal, and even hip hop in some cases (LM.C). And while it is true that some of the bands in the current visual kei scene may be just horrible (due to the highly marketed product that visual kei became in Japan), the early bands actually had soul and a vision to create a sound and appearance like nothing else. So no, visual kei is not glam metal, and no, most of the bands are not, as you put it, "lolbad". |

11.17.11 | And thanx. I love my profile pic XD |

11.17.11 | Indeed. The older bands still seem to be the ones breathing life into the scene. DELUHI is the only modern, recently formed band I truly enjoyed and they disbanded... |

11.17.11 | Needs more L'Arc-En-Ciel |
discovolante
11.17.11 | L'arc are influential in the scene to some extent. But there's nothing the boys hate more than being called "visual kei" lol |

11.26.13 | I adore Buck-Tick but I seriously have no idea why they get credit for helping establish visual kei. They have always been showy, and occasionally they came close to visual, as on 13kai wa Gekkou, but it was always more of a one-album thing than a continuing trend in their looks.
That said, awesome bands in the list, visual or not. I'll have to check out Color, never heard of them (: |
