gabethepiratesquid
03.01.12 | you sound really cool.
for more jazz:
Esbjorn Svensson Trio - Leucoctye (the o is supposed to have that double dot over it. Really cool Swedish jazz group, mixture of some electronic in there but soooooo good)
Mouse on the Keys - An Anxious Object (Japanese jazz group...you might kinda say they're math-jazz? Even though that sounds redundant you'll have to check it to see. But anyway, just gawjus)
Thundercat - Golden Age of the Apocalypse (okay, well this is Jazz Fusion. The kind you make love with ya lady to. Produced by Flying Lotus and composed/sung/played by the current bassist of Suicidal Tendencies) |

geng
03.01.12 | I would say listen to Let Yourself Be Huge. The Discovery is really good as well but it's quite similar to Beacons, while LYBH is really different. Also, check out Nicolas Jaar- Space Is Only Noise.

03.01.12 | BBNG and the Avalanches? Exceptional! |
Tyrannic
03.01.12 | #19 is really a toss up. if you liked the heavy parts of beacons then go with the discovery (even if it's not as good as beacons imo.) If you like his song structuring and general sense of prog-ish-ness, then give let yourself be huge a try, but be aware that it sounds NOTHING like beacons.
that being said, you seem cool. welcome |
Pentagon
03.01.12 | welcome dude.
BBNG is also one of my smoking albums. (2) |

03.01.12 | Glad we got a new user with decent taste, but why aren't there ever new metal users with good taste? |

03.01.12 | Because there is no such thing as good metal.

03.01.12 | emim- or (trying a legit opinion on that question), it probably has something to do with age. i feel like all the 'good' bands come with age (do you remember YOUR first metal band? yeah mine was slipknot sue me) |

03.01.12 | @porch are you being sarcastic? dude I dont even know who you are |
Tyrannic
03.01.12 | ok, let me walk you through this.
i think the fact that a lot of new metal users are young has a lot to do with their taste in music. i don't know this to be fact, just trying to give you a sorta-answer for discussion's sake.
like, when i was young i had shit taste (and probably still do whatever.) |
TheFonz123
03.01.12 | a lot of new users are scene which needs to stop |
stevo510
03.01.12 | Holy jesus 50+ comments overnight wasn't expecting that. Thanks to everyone for being so cool, i'm definitely not an alt though haha.

03.04.12 | so far i've listened to Sadus - Swallowed in Black, Camel - Mirage, Esbjorn Svensson Trio - Leucoctye and Eric's Trip - Love Tara, and i'm loving em. mirage has to be my favorite, it blew me away first listen, Lady Fantasy is absolutely perfect. Black, Jazz and Behind the Garage were a few standouts from the others. i love the piano on leucoctye though, anyone know of anything similar? |
