Back Into The Swing Of Things...
Took a little hiatus for about a month for band stuff, personal stuff, being sick, being swamped with school work, so on so forth. This is just a little dig list to get back into the groove. |
1 | | El Chupa Cobras El Chupa Cobras
EXTREMELY solid and EXTREMELY well balanced mix of progressive/raw post hardcore with a few grindy subtleties. Will have a review up by the end of the week. |
2 | | TheTwo Man Gentlemen Band Drip Dryin'
Nearly perfect throwback to good ol' fashion swing, with a little bit of ragtime and bluegrass thrown in for good measure. Will also have a review up this week or early next week (nothin on the weekend, goin to see PTH on Friday and some friends on Sat/Sun). |
3 | | The Two Man Gentlemen Band Heavy Petting
Reviewed this last week. Still digging it, though their newly released album (above) is more impressive. |
4 | | Converge Jane Doe
(generic Sputnik dig album #1) but it's really that good. |
5 | | As Cities Burn Come Now Sleep
Bought it around the beginning of last year, thought it was pretty alright but not better than their first one. Re-listened a month ago more closely, basically got kicked in the face. Album is awesome. |
6 | | La Dispute Somewhere at the Bottom of the River...
Awesome awesome awesome album. |
7 | | Kings Of Leon Because of the Times
WAAOOOO She's such a charmer, oh no. |
8 | | The Legion of Doom Incorporated
Fun mashups of post hardcore and punk bands. |
9 | | Ohana Dead Beat
Little late to the party on this one, oh well. So far it's pretty great. |
10 | | P.O.S. Never Better
On the same level as Audition for the most part, but there are hints of progression that make it just a bit better than it's predecessor. |
11 | | Tera Melos Idioms Vol. 1
Great cover EP. Didn't really expect them to cover many of the songs on here but they all work pretty well for the most part. |
12 | | Arsis A Diamond For Disease
I didn't really find it that great the first couple of times through, but after a few more listens it's starting to warm up to me quite a bit. |
13 | | Have A Nice Life Deathconsciousness
(generic Sputnik dig album #2) but again, it's really just that good. |
14 | | At The Drive-In Vaya EP
I mean...it's awesome. |
15 | | Coheed and Cambria In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3
Every single song on this album has a moment that genuinely blows me away. |
