The only nu-metal album I adore
According to the internet, Korn has started with the nu-metal thing in the 90s. Good for them.
From the nu-metal bands I heard on MTV such as Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, System of a Down, the first two albums of Linkin Park had nu-metal aspects, etc.
As much as I enjoy listening to them, they faded in my interest over time.
But there's only one nu-metal album that it made me come back to listen to it at times. And it was released in 2002. | 1 | | Pulse Ultra Headspace
The first song I heard was Build Your Cages. I love the vibe of it.
The lyrics is one of my favorite I read.
"Build your cages, pray for freedom
Believe all your made-up sages
Sucked out from your social circle
Is it worth the 15 minutes?"
"Sacrifice everything you know you love
The dream entices you to give yourself away
Sacrifice everything you know you love
You miss the things you hated long ago"
"You're so close
to nothing"
"Dreams are seldom what they seem"
The 1st verse and the chorus are insightful to this day.

Okay, this won't be like a review.
These other songs deserve to be mentioned for this:
Acceptance, Finding My Place, Put it Off, Big Brother, Never the Culprit, Slip in Sin, Void, Glass Door and Despot.

This album and "Build Your Cages" hold something special for me. I wish I could've discovered them sooner.
At the time I'm writing this list, I'm happy of my current music preference rn.

01.19.24 | I'm actually re-listening to the first three Slipknot and I have to say that they are quite good. I was a huge thirteen year old fan but re-listening to them has made me appreciate them for different reason than before. Especially Vol3. Of course, as an amateur drummer, I have mad respect for Joey Jordison! | Ladron93
01.19.24 | That's good, Rastapunk. ^^
Iowa and Vol 3 are good albums I tend to go back to listen to rarely. All Hope is Gone is still fun, though. | SomeCallMeTim
01.19.24 | haven't checked this album but hopefully will at some point
You should check Between Birth and Death by Sunk Loto, if you haven't already | Ladron93
01.19.24 | Sunk Loto? Never heard of it. I'll give it a listen later. | Pikazilla
01.19.24 | this is good fun so far | Hyperion1001
01.19.24 | great album. more alt rock/metal than nu metal tbh. you probably heard it on the need for speed hot pursuit 2 soundtrack. that’s where i heard it first. | Hyperion1001

01.19.24 | @Hyperion1001 You're right. I heard it from NFS Hot Pursuit 2 OST. It has some pretty good songs.
@pizzamachine Yes, nearly perfect. |
