Tripping Alone

So I'd been saving these pretty legit tabs for my friend and I for a couple weeks, then when the time finally came he bailed on me. I was planning on doing two, and was really comfortable with the idea 'cause I knew I'd have that extra support line there. But I wasn't about to let him ruin my plans either, so I said fuck it and took two by myself and had a goddamn blast. I just skated around all the parks by my house, listening to music and getting closer to nature. Bliss, essentially.

Imaginarium Revisited

I started off on the top of this woodsy hill in the middle of all the paths. People could only see me if they looked, not that I cared. It's just a really nice spot, especially in mid afternoon. This album was a great one to start with; it's chill enough to relax but trippy enough to remind you of what's coming. I didn't finish the album tho, cuz once it really started kicking in I wanted something a little more intense

Spectral Detours.

I skated from that spot up to this frisbee golf course that's part of the park. I just sat on a bench and watched people throw discs around, and watched the grass get lighter...darker...lighter...darker, then I put this on. Two insanely intense ambient tracks; with really up-close-and-personal sounds. If anyone saw my face while listening to this they probably could've inferred I was on drugs. But when this was over, I wanted something even more. I was tripping balls at this point. So...
3The Body
No One Deserves Happiness

oh my GOD. This album had me completely submerged. Eventually I couldn't sit anymore so I started skating again. And I took a huge spill right on this shitty cracked pavement right when "The Fall and the Guilt" started, lol. But it didn't even hurt. Well, it hurt, but it was really easy to psych myself out of it. I just got up and kept skating, watching the blood squirt out of my hand and my elbow. It was surreal. "The Myth Arc" had me in a state of complete meditation. Then I 5'd this album.

Public Strain

I went back home to check in with my gf and clean up my cuts, then I went back out as the Sun was starting to go down. I found this nice little park in a different area of town and sat on a bench overlooking a baseball diamond. The sky was all dark pink and orange. And I put this album on. I was initially gonna go for something like Sweet Trip or Thao and the Get Down Stay Down, but this matched the time of day better and it was fucking amazing. The farthest I got from my ego was probably during "Untogether" and "Eyesore." Honestly can't remember the last time I enjoyed music that thoroughly. I was probably tripping.

Velocity : Design : Comfort

Then for the long skate home I decided to leave my headphones off and just take in the sounds of my neighborhood. I was also vocalizing my every thought quite loudly. Comparisons, memories, anything. Honestly, it was like I was hanging with my friends, but I wasn't. It was liberating. All in all, a fantastic experience. Don't hesitate to trip alone! Use it as an opportunity!
