My Current Jamyjamz Of 2014

Rec me some things por favor. This list probbably isn't proof of it, but I'm looking for some really cool metal since I feel like I haven't heard anything like that that I enjoy much of recently.
1Trophy Scars
Holy Vacants

I mean...you saw this coming right? So good. We have the bluesy style of songs
like Crystallophobia and Archangel along with the raw power of Qeres and Gutted.
Everything Disappearing's 2nd half is one of the most gorgeous things this band has
achieved. The real highlight for me is the combination of Chicago Typewriter and
Vertigo. Like...every second hits hard...possibly my favorite song combination of all
time. Seeing them again this Saturday (which is funny since I haven't seen a big
band live since them) and I could not be more excited.
2Icarus The Owl
Icarus The Owl

It's as fun as it is intricate. Every track is fantastic and so far it's in a battle with
Holy Vacants for my AOTY so far. Just listen.
3La Dispute
Rooms of the House

Okay...it's not a 5 (yet), but this band is still doing what they do best with some
new twists thrown in. I think this lacks the impact that Wildlife/Somewhere had.
Overall, that's fine for what they were going for, but I just feel like that's what
makes the album feel as short as it is. Yet on the contrary, the more, I guess,
restrained type of sound is excellent in the Woman tracks. In the end, I still love
this album and it's a worthy addition to their discography. And besides, lyrically
this is as grand as you would've expected if not more.
4Chiodos
Devil

Either the songs were Chiodosy, catchy, or just plain meh/unforgettable. I Am
Everything That's Normal, Duct Tape, and Why The Munster Matters do it the best
in terms of their sound. If you liked their previous works minus Illuminaudio, this is
basically that.
5The All-American Rejects
Move Along

Okay, so I'm including all of their discography in here. Their singles were my
elementary/middle school music and coming back to it all felt nostalgic so I checked
the rest of what they have. It's pretty damn good pop-punk that sounds 1000x
better than what passes as pop-punk today.
6A Bunny's Caravan
Draining Puddles, Retrieving Treasures

I have never got into a post-rock album this easily. It's cool that it has it's emo
style too and it's shame there is only 1 album. But every second enthralled me.
7The Venetia Fair
Every Sick, Disgusting Thought...

Seeing them Saturday as well and they are so good. The Day I Set Them Free is
such a well made single and the rest of this is just as hectic.
8Hop Along
Get Disowned

These vocals. My god, these vocals. If you are looking for good females vocals,
look no further since your expectations are about to be exceeded.
