02.18.15 | For 4, try the album "4" by ASS. It's a lot more straight folk, but it reminded me a lot of Vali and Tenhi, so I thought I'd mention it. It's hard to find by googling because ASS brings up different kinds of results and 4 is a pretty generic name for an album, but the whole thing is on Spotify.
Also, I'm assuming you've heard Vali, but if not Vali's album "Forlatt" is another must-listen for 4 |

02.18.15 | For 8, have you listened to Red House Painters? It's Mark Kozelek's first project I think and the album Songs for a Blue Guitar is great. You might already listen to the National, but if not, their album High Violet is great too. |

CK - Yeah the google search yielded some interesting results there...ASS was pretty good though, although lacking the atmosphere that Tenhi carries.
anobsoletevernacular - Yes, I love RHP. I never really got into The National though.
Yotimi - I'm familiar with the Mercury Rev and Sparklehorse records, but what I really love about The Soft Bulletin is the use strings and the softness of it all.
PappyMason - I have all of those aside from Prefuse 73, so I'll definitely check that out. Unkle - Psyence Fiction is probably the closest album to Entroducing..... I can think of - check that one out if you've haven't before. |
