sounds like it could be cool, but it's probably really boring and repetitive

I was jamming this earlier, the only thing that annoys me (and not in this album only, but in contemporary metal albums in general) is the rhythm guitars which sound "compressed". Other than that, the record is great overall.

It's actually pretty nice. Riffs are standard tech death affair but it's generally quite catchy and much better structured than most tech death, doesn't struggle to find a tempo to sit in.

does it pretty much just sound like Obscura and Blotted Science?

Kind of but better than the former and more accessible than the latter.

That's the first thing I thought about before checking this out. Probably won't bother now.

pretty sweet album

it's cool that all of the songs follow the drums, which is obviously the focus of the album

Not at all surprised by how solid this is. Thus far I'd put this above Obscura's most recent, for sure.

listening to the first track, it's better than what I expected, but I feel like listening to the whole album would be a chore.

Love every riff. I'd really like to hear some more accessible vocals over music like this. something
with catchier patterns, more pronunciation, better hooks, the works.

Like Vincent from The Acacia Strain

Album is pretty decent. I don't find it all that memorable though.

so he plays guitar pretty damn well too! solid album, certainly in the style of Obscura in terms of riffing and drum patterns. can't help but wonder if a proper band name would've been a better idea
