Cool. I quite enjoyed their first 2 releases

Weird
When's Botch getting back together!?
|
| |
The Darkest Red ruled hard so this is great news imo
|
| |
I actually really enjoyed their self-titled album; haven't listened to it in forever though.
|
| |
Really excited about this. Hoping the new album leans more toward the balls-out melodeath/metalcore of the Darkest Red than the punky vibe of Get Damned
|
| |
Excellent news. These guys are pretty cool.
|
| |
used to jam these guys back in the day
|
| |
noice
|
| |
still jam the darkest red pretty regularly
|
| |
one of the better christian metalcore bands
|
| |
Didn't know they were Christian. Don't know why that's still apparently a relevant thing
|
| |
Technically, their first two albums which happen to be their best are christian based. After The Darkest Red they ditched the Christian label and all of a sudden denied everything associated with Christianity. Get Damned happened to be their first album without any Christian influences.
|
| |
that's when they were converted to Tibetan throat singers
|
| |
Get Damned happened to be their first album without any Christian influences.
Except for the title of the album of course
|
| |
they were Christian when they started out and had their old vocalist, but they've been pretty open about the fact that after
lineup changes, by the time they started releasing albums they definitely weren't Christian anymore. a skim of the lyrics on
the first couple albums makes that fairly evident, along with what they've always said in interviews.
|
| |
That makes sense then because The Darkest Red doesnt sound like it came from a Christian metal band at all the lyrics on there are pretty dark
|
| |
I thought the lyrics on the self-titled were just as dark if not moreso, like "Shotgun Wedding" and "Habeas Corpus".
always found it funny that they got away with releasing that on a label like Solid State.

| |
Tulsa, OK reprehzent!
|
| |
Wow talk about blast from the past. Haven't heard about these guys in ages. Darkest Red was great so looking forward to what they come up with.
|
| |
The Darkest Red was great.
|
| |
^ This. Id be happy with a TDR Part 2.
|
| |
Was supposed to see these guys play with Avenged Sevenfold in like 2004 and they canceled.
The self-titled album was okay, I thought.
|
| |
I actually really enjoyed all their albums, The Darkest Red especially. I'm excited for new material.
|
| |
I just hope their new stuff isn't too modern sounding. I don't like the direction metalcore has gone recently.
|
| |
they exclusively played stuff from the first two albums (plus a cover of At the Gates' "Slaughter of the Soul") at the reunion show, so I don't think there's much reason to worry about the direction they're going to take. doesn't seem like they're going to go for another Get Damned, at least.
|
| |
yeah definitely not a christian band. I saw them in 2005 and smoked weed with brent for a good portion of the night after their set, they just happened to be on solid state records. i think maybe their old vocalist was a christian or something
|
| |
Cool news! Stoked for the new album, should be at least on par with The Darkest Red. Get Damned sucks.
|
| |
Didn't see this coming. Right on though!
