I think it's the same reason OM&M's last album sounded like it did: they're shooting for the mainstream. The sideprojects just are a safer way to do it than changing your main band's style. I know some people in metalcore bands and that's their general attitude.

I actually really like the first 2 AA albums, but this is shit. Danny's the only reason I even checked the song out. Even without him, this would still be shit (to me of course. I do not represent the Sputnik majority)

A lot of people jump on the "insert type of music" sucks here. Many because "they think it sucks". But when pressed as to why it sucks they have no answer. I've always been a big fan of "listen to what makes you happy and joke about everything else". The issue that comes across is that some folks here have lost the joking and have turned into the jaded, huckster douche-bags that make me hate the music scene. Or at least they come across that way. Maybe people forgot that the sarcasm font always slants and has to end with a :D when one isn't sure if the joke will be understood.

Please though; continue all of the hate on Nickleback. They're Canadian and the shit they play isn't really music so much as it's an auditory torture device :D
