Band cites outfits such as Wolves In The Throne Room, Ulver, Fauna, Woman Is The Earth as references, and I tend to agree.

Great album.

"For fans of Wolves in the Throne Room"

Yeah, you practically named yourselves after them.

I wonder if they sound like Wolves in the Throne Room

in the same way that I wonder if Oak Pantheon sounds like Agalloch.

its basically wittr worship anyway, but instrumental except for some chanted male vocals in like one track. If they get a better recording set up and expand their sound they could be good, but this demo is sorta lamesauce :p

Unlike this band compared to WITTR, Boris have their own sound and didn't rip off Melvins..

Well guys, you have to calm down. You judge a band just because their name refers to another and clearly you are against it. I personaly don't see something wrong here. Afterall it's all about music and personal taste. I enjoyed the atmospheres of these guys and found their music good. Not something unique or original, but quite enjoyable and honest.
Anywayz,
Piss On Earth brothers!

Hatebreed is named after the misfits song Hatebreeder.. but they're kinda lame now. But the COB album Hatebreeder is pretty sweet so, ya know.

This is a pretty bad ripoff though. When it's this obvious it becomes cringe worthy.

somehow I'm sure it's perfectly fine when you're a fan of the band in question

I'm not sure why you'd name yourself after a band you're *not* a fan of...

name aside, I'll give this a listen. I like Wolves. the instrumentalness gives me pause though.

Hope Drone is named after a gy!be song and they're p decent. I reiterate that if this band should expand their sound, they could be pretty decent in the long run.

Blah! There are numerous examples of bands who took their names from others...
Sunn O))) from the amplifiers that Earth were using and also in their first steps were a copy-cut of "Earth 2", Teeth of Lions Rules The Divine took their name from the sametitled song of "Earth 2" and Machine Head took their name from one of the greatest hard rock / heavy metal efforts of all time (Flynn denies it though). But after all who cares?? All those bands (and lots more) are awesome!
Is just music! If you like it,follow, if you don't , leave them behind! ;)
Keep things simple! Life is already too fucked up!
Piss!
