Pretty good song! Looking forward to the album.

Really don't know how people can digest this kind of harsh vocals, they are revolting.
| |
i don't really like the mix though - the vocals are way to loud and over the top.
But the song is nice despite being relatively short
| |
Are they still continuing the same storyline or have they dropped the 'concept' yet?

'Are they still continuing the same storyline or have they dropped the 'concept' yet?'
Derek told that the record would be about the mother if im not mistaken. But the video suggest that it'd be about the priest from Cowardice.

Nobody cares about this story anymore.
| |
best song from this band I've heard
| |
"Nobody cares about this story anymore. "
which is why I want them to drop it already
| |
pretty good song
"god damn i fucking hate it when a band mixes like this. hearing one guitar line in my ear for twenty seconds whilst the other remains essentially silent is painful, not to mention they just do it all throughout the song. the key to a good dynamic mix is evenly spreading the sound through both outputs continuously throughout the track, not start-stopping ear-to-ear."
i distinctly remember a song that did that for like 45 seconds straight years ago and it used to irritate the shit out of me but it doesn't really bother me now

As much as I love this band, Letters Home didn't do all that much for me, although hearing this has me very excited. I think this record might be the one to reignite my love for Defeater.
| |
yea
| |
that make up when he's in his house at the end is over exaggerated and poor
| |
Song's not horrible but yeah
Nobody cares about this story anymore. [3]
| |
I'm not sure if I'm into it that much. I guess Lost Ground will forever remain their best release.
| |
Hey neat
| |
defeater is defeater
proper title
| |
Why are the vocals so loud, I can barely hear the guitars.
| |
Pretty good, expecting this to be a step up on their last one.
| |
My body is ready
| |
From what I can tell this is gonna follow a priest, probs the one in Cowardice. Like the Lost Ground EP having the prophet hobbo
| |
Defeater detail latest bowl movement
| |
that's the sound of wet hipsters
| |
What's the point of listening to music about alcoholic, abusive, & depressed parents when you've got them irl?
| |
Jk :-)
Songs meh
| |
Ugh this band
| |
I really liked Travels when it came out but the last two albums were so lackluster I don't have high hopes for the new one. Also, I agree, the story/lyrical concept is wearing thin.
| |
Love the band but not as into this as I hoped I'd be. I agree that the mixing does it no favors. But its a good song, and I will certainly listen to it again.
I also think they should lose the concept at this point. Worked once, maybe even twice or three times, given that it has worked for me. But at this point I think it takes away from the music in my personal opinion.
| |
Not interested
| |
Looking forward to the whole thing

do something that's not a shitty WWII concept album [2502352309]
| |
I really enjoyed the song. The vocals are so raw and Defeater have one of the best drummers in Hardcore.
| |
Tr00er than tr00. Drums sound fucking awesome though.
| |
I can't believe this name wasn't taken.
| |
Infuriates me how this band refuses to drop their concept.
| |
drums sound great [1234]
That's honestly the only plus for me.
| |
Yea their drummer is possibly the best in the scene right now.
| |
hes pretty good
| |
at least the vocals sound better
edasn had some of the worst vocals i've ever heard
| |
Song is incredibly boring
| |
great song
| |
song is weak. band's getting pretty stale
| |
Still running on the same old concept. Good the first two records but it's beyond stale at this point. I'll just continue to stick with their early work as the new stuff is boring as hell in comparison.
| |
letters home is pretty underrated here. also song is solid. might make sense in context of the album
| |
Better than anything from the last album.
| |
No empty days is defenitly not on par with travels. The songs were sounding more like la dispute and the lyrics were pretty boring. Defeater is really a band that makes me scratch my head and wonder how they forgot how to be good.
