Posted my opinions on the Arche thread. Nice song but not good enough for their usual standards of brilliance however the video is mindblowing.

Yeah, still a nice track. Beastly Kyo is forever omniscient.

Vinushka is on the bottom half on Uroboros in terms of quality doe.

The video is way better than the song, which in and of itself is good, but not terribly interesting by Diru standards. If it does end up being on the new album, I doubt it's gonna be a proper representation of the overall sound of the offering; said that before in the Arche thread. Oh, and...

"Vinushka is on the bottom half on Uroboros in terms of quality doe."

Dafuq kinda sentient planet birthed you, Calcium?

"Dafuq kinda sentient planet birthed you, Calcium?"

Uranus ;)

But seriously minus Bugaboo Respira/Bugaboo and Hydra 666 every single song on Uroboros is better than Vinushka in my eyes.

nah, Vinushka is top 10 Dir En Grey

Got nothing to say about this that hasn't been said before though. Video is very creative, song is good but not up to their latest standards.

I know no one's gonna agree with me :P

However, this song has produced this mindblowing moment: https://youtu.be/B6TxjcNBoXY?t=4m14s

"Vinushka" is best track on Uroboros lol.
This track's gonna be very challenging live for Kyo.

Well if you ever want to watch it here's a download of it: https://theninjapanda.wordpress.com/downloads/live-dvds/concert-dvds/dum-spiro-spero-at-nippon-budokan/

Just download each file, open the first file in 7-Zip and extract.

Well, that checked all the boxes for a good Dir en grey song, so I'm happy. Nice to hear from them again.

Also nice to see that Kyo has lost none of his abilities.

Definitely a cool song, but it doesn't blow my mind like similar songs from the past few albums (Different Sense, Revelation of Mankind) did. I love the drumming though, and the video is amazing.

I also kind of feel like they're getting a bit more VK lately as well. Maybe it's just me?

Yeah you're right Mabbitt, which is a great sign in my opinion. VK bands with actual substance is rare and a beautiful thing to see in action.

After like 10 listens I think I can finally see the main reason why I think this song despite being a nice song is a drop in quality: The guitars. It sounds so lifeless for a song where the drums, vocals and bass are firing all cylinders. This is just a single version though so there's hope with the album mix (like the Rinkaku snare was fixed in the album version) and it'll be better with context.

Also for people saying they're happy to see Kyo still being a beast, here's a recent performance of Revelation of Mankind live: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfuBuJGiWOk

Not judging the mix. Remember original Hageshisa.

Yeah I remember, but I think original Lotus was the biggest improvement easily to the album version.

Dir En Grey videos in general tend to be cut way too fast. But some of the Gauze ones are really good in spite of that.

I like the Different Sense one, The Unraveling one is fine. Yeah they do that a bunch in their videos but a bunch of their videos (like this one) are incredible.

I remember the video to 304 to be very atmospheric. it actually inspired me to write a short story if I remember correctly, so that's always a very good sign.

Not a fan of the tentacles Evo? :P Also yeah 304 the song and video rule, top 15 Diru song hard.

EvoHavok

Nah, especially not in "Different Sense". The imagery used in live shows is fantastic, though. They could've centered the video only around that.

I think it fits with the lyrics, mutation from nuclear fallout and all but yeah it's there for obvious shock factor.

Not too interesting. Some sweet moments like unexpected pauses that could've been explored more. The length's refreshing though.
The video is basically the band performing on top of another video (Wish by NIN).
