RIP Toby Smith (ex-Jamiroquai) 2017-04-14 by Raul Stanciu STAFF | 15 Comments | The original Jamiroquai keyboard player and main songwriter, Toby Smith was found dead this week.
He was featured on the band's first five records (Emergency on Planet Earth through A Funk Odyssey), before leaving to spend more time with his family.
No details were given as of yet regarding his death. He was only 46 years old.
Former Jamiroquai bassist, Stuart Zender commented on his ex-bandmate death:
“I love you so much”
“My big brother Toby crossed over to the other side last night. All my fondest memories are of him and the band that we created. The most talented musician I have ever had the honour to make music with. There will never be another like you Toby. Your light will shine on eternally.
“Thank you for making mine and everyone’s life so bright. I celebrate your love and life! Rest in Love. Your bald brother Stu”
