Satch Has His 'Energy' Back

2017-09-28 by dante1991 | 13 Comments
Joe Satriani has released his new single "Energy" from upcoming 16th studio album What Happens Next.

The album, expected January 18th 2018, is said to abandon the more 'progressive' sound of the last few albums and utilise a more straightforward "pure rock and soul" approach.

'Energy' can be viewed on Satriani's YouTube channel:

Satch and 'soul' in the same sentence/article? That's got to be a first.

Satriani has always being a straightforward conventional rock n roll guy. Most of his music sound like a soundtrack for a car racing with the same old 4/4 that has been done 10000000 times. Don't get me wrong here ! Satriani is a great shredder no doubt but he doesn't know how to write real prog epic unlike Steve Vai who is way way more progressive and outside the box in term of songwriting abilities.
