Song is pretty good. I loved The Monitor and TMLT so naturally I'm pretty excited for this.
|
| |
holy FUCK im so excited i’ve been jamming the monitor and their debut all the past month
|
| |
welp fuck cornerstone ballads, fuck this album for now
|
| |
Badass. I'm gonna get into these guys. Getting Mountain Goats vibes from this video.
|
| |
man i fucking hate when this band tries to copy the old singer/songwriters and their style, like it's not even that bad, but holy wesley snipes just really lame
|
| |
"(I'm) Like a Rolling Stone"
mkay lol
|
| |
Oh
|
| |
Their last album was great, and their first two releases are amazing, but this is just shit, honestly
|
| |
first time listener and this was, uh, real good
|
| |
yeah this rules.
listen to the monitor, dude.
|
| |
"man i fucking hate when this band tries to copy the old singer/songwriters and their style, like it's not even that bad, but holy wesley snipes just really lame"
who exactly are they copying here?
|
| |
was pretty ok but coulda cut 3 mins off and been better; it builds up too slowly to justify that runtime. Vox has his beard back tho so I'm hyped.
|
| |
seriously worst band all time
|
| |
quite liked this, not sure adopting a style that puts even more emphasis on Stickles' voice is the way to go for them but we'll see
|
| |
Just how I love my Titus Andronicus: as absurd and gigantic as possible
Fucking love this song, AOTY contender I'd bet
|
| |
"who exactly are they copying here?"
Getting some Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones, and Elton John - except unlike their influences, this tune has no backbone.
|
| |
^ what does that even mean.
song is good.
|
| |
No love for local business here. Song is good but I miss the production & sound of their first two albums. (All their records are great in my opinion to be clear)
|
| |
"what does that even mean."
uh maybe like there's no chorus? It just kinda keeps going on the same tangent but the backing vocals and backing instrumentation slowly get bigger, while following along the same thing.
|
| |
Lmao.
But theres no chorus!
|
| |
TIL you need a chorus for your song to have a backbone.
|
| |
Yeah it took over four minutes for there to actually be a change in structure, but then it quickly merged back.
Not that that's a bad thing at all. I'm all for repetitive song structures.
But also this song is accurately the worst thing ever, much like everything else they've done.
|
| |
Its almost like you try to have bad opinions.
|
| |
more bore..
|
| |
the band will always bring more bore
|
| |
seriously though, don't springsteen and patti smith cover the global quota for this bright-eyed rock opera pandering nonsense?
|
| |
Yes and they both do it much better
|
| |
I swear, every time someone from new jersey finally realizes that racism/war/sexism/oil industry/life is unfair, they just have to go out and write a concept album about it.. I love it when people who've never worked in their lives write big albums to the working class..
|
| |
"TIL you need a chorus for your song to have a backbone. "
ayy that was just my interpretation. My point still stands tho. Song just kinda gooooes and gets louder as it does so.
|
| |
Song is pretty cool can’t wait to here the rest of the album
|
| |
The greatest band of all time.
|
| |
buying a ticket immediately
|
| |
For a band that thrives on furious guitars, I think it's a huge deal for them to start with releasing a single that has zero of them. I loved the swell of sound, and the emotion that piles on with each successive line sung. With all of the other "references" being tossed about here, I'm surprised no one has mentioned "Jane Doe" by Converge; structurally, it's very similar. I love it. Can't wait for the album.
|
| |
These guys are playing a show around here soon in a tiny ass DIY venue, I fucking love it, gotta catch that one.

Yoooo, they're coming to El Club in Detroit with Matt from Pile. (Pile is one of my favorite bands and I have yet to see them live in any capacity) I'm fuckin' stoked.
|
| |
This is truly the Titus.
|
| |
Yep Rick from Pile is whose playing with Titus at the show I was mentioning too, they're playing at a famous Rhode Island DIY spot called AS220, local arts and community center/showspace for decades now, but they almost never book acts as popular as Titus. Though I have seen Windhand and Saint Vitus there before. Can't wait.
I'm not familiar with Pile should I be excite?
|
| |
Probably gunna see these guys with Rick from Pile in early March. Can't wait.
@xfearbefore Jam Magic Isn't Real. Super underrated post-hardcore/noise rock band.
