Hawthorne Heights' "Pink Hearts" single

2018-03-03 by ConcubinaryCode | 33 Comments
Hawthorne Heights have released a new song, entitled "Pink Hearts" and subsequently announced signing to Pure Noise Records label. The new song is to be a part of a new upcoming album entitled Bad Frequencies and will be their first full length album since 2013's Zero.

The song cheekfully references some of their lines from their earlier songs and features a grown up perspective to how they were as people when they first formed.

The tracklist was announced as well as the release date of April 27th.

1. In Gloom
2. Pink Hearts
3. Crimson Sand
4. The Perfect Way To Fall Apart
5. Just Another Ghost
6. Bad Frequencies
7. Skylark
8. Edge Of Town
9. Starlighter (Echo, Utah)
10. Push Me Away
11. The Suicide Mile
12. Straight Down The Line
13. Pills

Hearts scribble pink on broken glass is not a good choice of words for a memorable chorus. I feel like they've regressed a bit since their early days and they weren't brilliant then but they were still quotable. Songs ok though. They're OK. Props to them still writing music ten years after they lost popularity.

Huge step down from their Hurt ep which I actually thought was decent.

Didn't know this band was still together, let alone released a record as early as 2013. Early 00s post-hardcore as a whole hasn't aged well.

The EP's are probably their best work but Zero was solid as well so, although I wasn't quite keen on this song at first, I still have hope left for the album.

Not bad. Reminds me of Fragile Future/Skeletons era HH.

Blegh not very good. Did they really quote their own lyrics from Ohio is For Lovers to start the song? This band will always be a guilty pleasure for me and I'll always give 'em a shot but this isn't very good and I'm not expecting much from the album.

Not thought about this band for years! Good to see them pop up again, even if it is just to laugh at them.

All of their songs feel uninspired to me, their albums are collections of bad ideas.

*multiple people giving a fuck in this thread alone*

"lol why don't they give up no one gives a fuck"

Except people do. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean no one else does.

Yeah, their ep trilogy was pretty good. They're not the same band they were in 2004 but I feel they're still playing because they truly want to regardless if they have fans or not and that's pretty commendable.

The way he looks so emo when wistfully when singing "cut my wrists and black my eyes!" in the Ohio is for Lovers video is still hilarious
