Metalcore/alt metal band AWS, who famously represented Hungary at this year's Eurovision Song Contest, have released a new song from their upcoming fourth studio album Fekete részem, out 12 October via EDGE Records.

Aside from new track "Fekete részem", the album also contains their Eurovision entry "Viszlát Nyár", which finished 21st in the Grand Final in Portugal, along with an acoustic rendition of the track.

I mean if you don't know who they are a quick Google search will help. If you mean what does AWS stand for, it doesn't stand for anything and it's a running joke that they all give different answers whenever they're asked.

"Famously"

I really don't think appearing on Eurovision alone automatically qualifies as famous.

Well they're pretty well known on the continent. Just cos they're not well known in America doesn't mean they're not famous on other continents.

I really like these guys anyway. Remember first finding them with their last album in 2016. The vocals could be better, but it seems to be a prevailing style in Hungarian alternative metal to sound like that if you listen to other bands of that ilk like Depresszió and Leander Kills, who also both nearly entered Eurovision a couple of times (Leander Kills in the same year as AWS).

I really, really enjoyed Viszlát Nyár for more than just the 'holy shit they chose this for Eurovision?' novelty, but the vocals on this one are turning me off a bit.
Interesting to read about how it's the standard style for Hungarian alt-metal though.

Oh yeah tuned into the end of the Eurovision song contest this year and when it showed clips for all the countries i remember hearing Hungary's and thinking wtf are a metal band doing here in between all the usual cheeseball pop without even a gimmick like Lordi had.

Of course they did terrible but werent dead last to be fair....that was the UK lol

Maybe the delivery of vocals is related to the Hungarian language, cos it's a very unique and strange language. Cos the bands I mentioned tend to sing their songs in Hungarian, while Ektomorf, another Hungarian band, sings in English and don't sound at all like it.

Oh god no! Thats what hoobastank used to do, say a different answer everytime they were asked. It was lame back then and it is certainly lame now lol

Low key like the song tho
