Poor guy, addiction is a fucking nightmare. He crushed his performance when he rolled through my town. Hope he gets better!

What's he addicted to
|
| |
corpsepaint
|
| |
and alcohol likely
|
| |
"What's he addicted to"
Alcohol. (But he had drug problems in the past too.)
|
| |
Alcohol...
http://metalwani.com/2019/11/abbath-is-battling-addiction-addresses-his-fans-time-to-fight-this-demon.html
... which is, addiction-wise, worse than drugs, according to medical doctors.
|
| |
His statement is great, wishing him the best and a healthy recovery.
My favorite clip of him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEctVHxs34U
|

"which is, addiction-wise, worse than drugs, according to medical doctors."
Well... that's a ridiculous statement because alcohol is a drug too. Are you talking about worse than narcotics? Hallucinogens? Stimulants, like cocaine?
|
| |
^^Alcohol is not a controlled substance
|
| |
I would argue it's worse almost solely because we glorify drinking alcohol to a terrifying extent in media
|
| |
Alcohol is a hard drug when abused to the point of physical dependence. The withdrawals are more dangerous than heroin.
|
| |
good on him
|
| |
I wouldn’t say alcohol is a worse addiction than drugs, that’s a bit ridiculous. It depends on the drug, the person, the duration of the addiction, daily intake etc. So many factors.
Addiction is addiction is addiction. It’s all terrible and has the ability to destroy one’s life. THAT SAID, heavy alcohol withdrawals are (along with benzo wd) the worst and most dangerous withdrawal there is, and can result in seizures/death. Hallucinations, delusions, losing your fucking mind etc. Not pretty. Heroin wd may suck but it’s not really dangerous.
Wishing the guy the best, addiction blows.
|
| |
Well said, I think we can all agree he's doing the right thing here
|
| |
The success rate of recovery from alcoholism is very low, even more so in the rock business, yet I sincerely hope he can overcome it.
|
| |
Recovery from addiction in general tbh. Meth addicts have the worst chance of success as it can take months, YEARS, for them to feel any semblance of joy or happiness. Meth destroys your dopamine receptors so life becomes a bland, lifeless, suicidal slog. And it takes so long to feel better, some are permanently brain fried — so most eventually just give in and start using again.
Meth is the absolute worst drug imo. I tried it a few times in high school and was instantly hooked. The high was incredible. But luckily that source dried up and it never really popped back into my circle. Bullet dodged.

"What's he addicted to?"
"Corpsepaint"
Sometimes you are funny Rel...sometimes.
|

hot scoop:
black sabbath disband, abbath goes to rehab, black s left to carry on.
|
| |
"_____ is the worst drug"
The answer is love. More specifically, codependent relationships.
Hoping this guy can carry through.
|
| |
The Argentina deblacle videos were hilarious, he was completely hammered. Police also kicked the shit out of fans outside the venue which shouldn't have happened.
Hope he can recover soon, go back to the stage and finish off that tour with dignity.
|
| |
"Police also kicked the shit out of fans outside the venue"
pretty sure in Argentina they just do that rock concert or not
|
| |
Such a cool guy, and so badass live! Hope he can beat his demons m/
|
| |
Rehabbath. Dude needs help so good on him
|
| |
Saw this one coming after the Argentina debacle, hope he manages to curb the addiction m/
|

"... which is, addiction-wise, worse than drugs, according to medical doctors."
Well that's one of the dumber things I've heard today.
|
| |
immortal were always one of the funner bands in black metal while being extremely fierce also. i'm wondering now how many of those songs were written shitfaced?
I heard Nocturno Culto from Darkthrone recorded an entire album's vocals drunk as fuck before.
|
| |
Fenriz drank so much he almost died lmao. what's with norwegian black metallers?
|
| |
"I heard Nocturno Culto from Darkthrone recorded an entire album's vocals drunk as fuck before."
I've heard that was Fenriz with the Isengard albums.
"Fenriz drank so much he almost died" Same case with Maniac from Mayhem.

Article claims "Alcohol kills more people than all other drugs combined"
Tobacco/Nicotine isn't a drug anymore apparently.
|
| |
so alcohol kills more people than the opioid epidemic? thats really hard to believe
|
| |
Rehabbath
|
| |
take abbath
|

Crabbath
|

so alcohol kills more people than the opioid epidemic? thats really hard to believe
Not difficult at all man when you take into account how many people drink and compare it to how many people use opioids.
Articles like that are always misleading. Of course alcohol kills more people than heroin does. Alcohol is legal, readily available and a metric fuckton of people drink!
|
| |
try kratom bro.
|
| |
Right.
|
| |
oh i was talkin to abbath
|
| |
I think he heard you dude.
|
| |
Sorry bro but I fucking hate Kratom. Was taking 50-100 grams a day for 8 years, and was making serious attempts to quit for three years. Could never do it. Finally had to get on suboxone. Was at 16 mgs and I’m dropping 2 mgs a month. Currently at 12.
|
| |
Yeah it seems like opiate addicts have a higher tendency to let kratom get out of control. I have no opiate experience other than stealin hydros from my friends mom a few times so kratom for me is just a fun gas station drug lol
|
| |
Hey man, I wish I could control it! It CAN be a great tool when you need it. It’s pretty damn harmless if you only take it occasionally (once a week or so).
