Geology Unearths New Album 2020-07-03 by jcurry094 | 2 Comments | Greg Jehanian, bassist of post-hardcore stalwarts mewithoutYou, has released his new record 'Light of the Risen Year' under the Geology moniker.
Geology is Jehanian's "lo-fi, low stakes, bedroom recording project", in the vein of Sufjan Steven's folk-leaning material and Dr. Dog, that has been releasing EPs periodically for the past decade.
On the new record:
"Light of the Risen Year, a line from one of Wendell Berry's Sabbath poems, stood out to me as a proclamation of hope and healing in the midst of deep process. These songs were written over the period of two years - years in which I sometimes found myself lost and disillusioned, but ultimately invited into healing through the ordinariness and simplicity of my life and those I choose to live it with."
'Light of the Risen Year' will be available for streaming this upcoming week, but is now available on Bandcamp.
