I flickety flam the drums from time to time. Sit upright as much as you can and set your kit up in a way that you don't have to bend to hit things like cymbal bells and you'll be fine.

A lot of people set their drums up to look 'cool' - completely flat rack toms for example, which usually doesn't make them easier to play. Just set the kit up comfortably, don't worry about it how it looks and you'll be fine

Flat is better for playing for me because then you move your arms instead of adjusting your wrist angle to hit each drum properly. But a lot depends on grip and many other factors
