Atreyu to play LSPA set

2020-11-24 by oh trudy, youre with the meanest boy in the hills EMERITUS | 41 Comments
Metalcore legends Atreyu announced yesterday on their twitter that they plan to march along, like a good soldier does, and set sail (with anchors holding them down). That they fully intend to pack up their bags, stow them away, and bid farewell to all that is safe...

For the uninitiated, they will be playing their fourth stuido album, 2007's Lead Sails Paper Anchor, in its entirety for the next installment of their "Carry the Fire" livestream series.

will they come up for air? WILL THEY COME UP FOR AIR??

LSPA, the band's first release on studio Disney following their peace emoji from Vagrant Records, is celebrated by diehard Atreyu as the band's purest and most delicious sellout. Where Atreyu records have always gotten by balancing sweeping Brandon Saller choruses against Alex Varkatzas velociraptor noise, LSPA stands alone in their discography as blowing up that formula concentrating on just the froth of the former. Perhaps this makes it an ideal choice for the band to play considering Varkatzas' recent departure after 20 incredible years.

If you want to save them/take them home, tickets can be purchased by following the links or whatever, no pressure. The "Multi-Livestream Platinum Bundle" at $140 dollars feels like the move tbh. Not sure what the other ones start at but the $140 one is already a bargain.

I, with my weak reliance on exaggeration as a cruch for comedic effect, unequivocally yield to you, a man of extraordinary and discerning taste. This is how the world will end.

I won't lie I skimmed the whole cd skipping around just to find harshes because I forgot there weren't much on it, so in the end it is I who was owned

Is it even legal to write a news article this way??

Otherwise I will make it legal.

Their bassist has been doing back-up screams since A Deathgrip... so maybe it will be him?

LSPA was my favourite album when I was 15

Becoming the Bull was in regular rotation on the radio when I was first getting into rock music and Falling Down was in that shitty Nintendo DS Guitar Hero game, so I'll admit I have a bit of a nostalgic soft spot for this mess of an album

Same, The Curse was cool when I was 15 or so, I remember learning the slow sweeps for Bleeding Mascara and thinking I was the shit on guitar but had moved on by the time this one came out, don’t think I even listened to it because they had that really weak album after The Curse

Agreed, A Death-Grip on Yesterday absolutely still slaps. That record is heavy as fuck, I don't care what anyone says.
