DMX kinda reminds me of Scott Weiland. Two talented guys, with a lot of sucess in their early careers, but due to addiction they both became more known for their problems than music made.

Scott is already 6-feet under, DMX is on his way.

DMX has had a really tragic life starting from his childhood, he was basically never a child to begin with. Unfortunately he has been plagued by addiction problems for years. Looks well and healthy, then goes back to the dark side every time unfortunately. Really a one of a kind rapper. This stuff makes me think of his song Slippin.

Problem is his brain didn't get enough oxygen when he was brought to the hospital and it looks like he might be brain dead.

Hate to see this about anyone. Addiction is a horrible thing and no one should have to suffer through it. I had a friend, he was much older than me, that couldn't seem to kick the habit of popping pain pills. He reached out to me on FB messenger occasionally just discussing life and his depression. I had a missed call in my notifications the morning I found out he had overdosed. He literally tried to reach out mere hours before he died. I wish I had answered the phone.

Here's hoping X pulls through, no one deserves to go out like that. (2)

Lost a friend to an accidental overdose as well @Jouro. He just turned 27, had his whole life ahead of him. we used to jam and went to college together. totally sucks

aren't you pretty much dead though if your brain dies. I mean technically you aren't dead as far as your body, but the person you were dies.

When you have a heart attack and your brain is deprived of oxygen for 30+ mins, the prognosis generally isn't good

update: he is still not confirmed to be dead. No doctor has said that he's dead, or brain dead, or anything of the sort -- they're doing tests and analyzing the progress.

“Everybody please stop with posting these rumors, DMX is still alive,” he said in a video posted to his Instagram page. “Yes, he is on life support, but please, it’s not helping anybody by having them see these false rumors. Let the family relax for a night, you will be hearing a statement from the family some time tomorrow. I’ve been with DMX for the past three years, so the only thing I ask is just stop with the rumors. He is still alive and he is on life support. Thank you.”
