y'all remember when this band had guitarists
| |
yeah like on this song
strong One for Sorrow vibes here, I dig it
| |
could've fooled me
| |
then I guess you didn't listen to the song
| |
I thought it was nice. It's a not exactly heavy, but I dig the hopeful vibe
| |
good song yes, erm yeah
| |
i listened to it and The Conjurer and HLAG and it's crazy that they added a guitarist and then subsequently de-complicated their writing
| |
not only did they add a guitarist, they added an absolute beast on the fretboard
still waiting for some of these moments from Jani:
https://youtu.be/ACAP4GjKC9I
| |
I like the song and I appreciate that they're doing some moodier doom stuff, but I want some riffs man!
| |
Yeah this band was more interesting back when they were more riff oriented. They've gotten less and less interesting ever since ATWW
| |
And I thought Conjurer was boring. It pains me to see this is the same band who wrote ATWW and STDIACD.
| |
atww was pretty boring ngl
band has had its fair share of highs and lows
their first two albums are still their best
| |
In the halls is pretty amazing too. I will never forget the first time I heard the outro of Shades of Deep Green.
| |
in the halls is prob their 2nd best yea
ppl should hear the demo tbh
| |
It's not *bad* but it's not exciting, and it's boring how Insomnium (and Dark Tranquility, for that matter) focus so strongly on delivering melody instead of metal. I want riffs, man.
| |
when has this band really ever been about "the riffs"
| |
,,, like in the beginning
check the demo
| |
i'm into this, feels very much like a slower cut from 'shadows of the dying sun'
almost a direct continuation of 'lost to night'
| |
nice
| |
"when has this band really ever been about the riffs"
The first two albums. ATWW was the beginning of the end of that but it was still decent. Now, this band just sounds like they're trying to create some melancholic soundscape most of the time
| |
^^^Check Inferi - Path of Apotheosis
Lots of riffs to be enjoyed on there
| |
My band actually toured with inferi. Super cool dudes
| |
Whoa, that's epic
| |
Their drummer is a beast too
| |
damn thats wild dude
| |
Allegaeon was on the tour too. It was my first month long tour experience and also right before covid happened so I only played one show after that lol. All those dudes are super down to earth and nice though and it was a blast
| |
great song
| |
sounds cool man fr :]
| |
Fuck the riffs give me the atmosphere, that's what drew me into this band.
| |
I miss the Death Metal part in their style of Melodic Death Metal.
| |
decent
| |
If you guys want riffs check out Stortregn, since I see y'all mentioning Inferi.
| |
Stortregn rules so hard
| |
What's your band Eak? Inferi is pretty big man that's sick you went on the road with them! Congrats on that! Haven't jammed some Insomnium since like 08 but I'll give some more recent stuff a try
| |
Thanks man! I'm in paladin. We were kind of a mismatch on the tour since we're power thrash but I guess all the bands were shreddy so we fit in that sense haha
| |
Ascension rules. Keep up the great work.
| |
Thanks man! We got a tour coming up with immortal guardian. It'd be cool to see some of you dudes at a show
| |
pog ill check paladin
| |
check aephanemer
| |
I'll check aephanemer. Album art is cool and similar bands... wintersun and kalmah. Right up my alley. As long as it's more like first album wintersun lol
| |
Check their latest one, it's got some pretty cool melodeath riffage
| |
I'm on it
