This was very underwhelming.
|
| |
band hasn't been good for a while now
|
| |
loved this omg
|
| |
well then
maybe I'll have to give this song a chance
|
| |
They need to change up their sound, this is so tiring to listen to
|
| |
It’s good
|
| |
as a chvrches fan it's not hard to top Love Is Dead. living for this and the other single tbh
|
| |
I loved their debut and everything since has been shit. Also the lead singer is an insufferable douche
|
| |
That was easily my favorite song they written since Every Open Eye. I actually loved this song so it's a massive improvement to me over anything on their last album
|
| |
"Also the lead singer is an insufferable douche"
lmao how
|
| |
honestly she is but she has a nice voice so w/e
|
| |
I am excited to listen after work
|
| |
I've heard she's pretty difficult to work with but I forget where
Has no bearing on the music though ig
|
| |
"lmao how"
this is gyro we're talking about
|
| |
"hey Martin this song needs a male vocalist for the second verse"
"oh cool are we finally gonna sing on the same track?"
"lmao no it's Robert Smith"
|
| |
in all fairness this song is really good, in stark contrast to how awful the previous single was
Love is Dead was awful but still managed to have a banger or two, which is about what I'm expecting from the next one
|
| |
poop song
|
| |
if Robert Smith is on it then it is literally impossible for it to be bad
|
| |
this song is getting me really hype tbh. makes me hope that love is dead was just a fluke. loves me a darker sounding chvrches
|
| |
This is great.
|
| |
am i the only one who thinks it's sounds exactly like Graffiti
|
| |
Song is cool.
"if Robert Smith is on it then it is literally impossible for it to be bad" [2]
|
| |
yeah, kinda similar but Graffiti was easily tiers above the rest of that album
|
| |
I liked this more than anything they have released in awhile. Not bad.
|
| |
I, too, remembering being enamored with this band's first record, then completely forgetting about them. Robert Smith sounds better on this track than the lead singer. His voice suits the music haha. I dug it a lot more when he came into the track.
|
| |
song is decent
|
| |
It's good... definitely better than anything from love is dead, but that isn't any great achievement to begin with.
|
| |
Good song, previous single was fucking trash though like really really bad
|
| |
Robert is obviously the best part. This band's popularity baffles me. They're just glossy pop crap with overproduced vocals and an insufferable lead singer. But hey, to each their own.
|
| |
"This band's popularity baffles me. They're just glossy pop crap with overproduced vocals and an insufferable lead singer."
their first two albums (particularly their debut) are remarkable and the songwriting is top-notch. their more recent work, eh
|
| |
i feel like we've all been quick to say that this band has gone down hill when so far it really was just the 1 album. a single bad album doesn't define a group.
even the singles they've released since love is dead and before this were much better (Out of My Head, Death Stranding).
|
| |
It never takes long for me to be reminded how much Sput hates women lmao
|
| |
Robert Smith does nothing for this song.
Decent track though. One of their best refrains in a while.
Really don't understand how Lauren is an "insufferable douche." Odd insult.
|
| |
How is she an insufferable douche? Some dude at a concert yells 'Marry me' and she accuses him of being a misogynist. She's a little trigger happy to jump on the 'All dudes suck' train, and to top it off she's not nearly as cute or funny or twee as she thinks she is. That last part is my opinion, of course, but still. She's insufferable.
|
| |
ITT: She's a douche because she won't sleep with me, even after i showed her my sword and fedora collection.
|
| |
"Some dude at a concert yells 'Marry me' and she accuses him of being a misogynist."
Catcalling female performers on stage is misogynistic, my man.
|
| |
Oh, come tf on. He wasn't showing extreme prejudice toward her for being a female. He was yelling something out at a concert. I get it if he called her a derogatory name, but we have to draw a line. Catcalling isn't automatically misogyny.
|
| |
Harassing women isn't automatically misogyny? What a take.
I believe in this specific instance, the man had been heckling her about how attractive she was for the entire show, and if memory serves me right, the specific catcall that got under her skin was "marry me now," which is an aggressive and odd thing to say to a stranger.
I'm sure it must get awfully tiring to perform night in and night out and have a bunch of men just yell at you about your appearance during every show with little appreciation for the art you make.
|
| |
This mouth breather decides what is and inst misogynistic and then rages about how "she isn't as cute as she thinks she is"
Lmao I love hating this place it's embarrassing
|
| |
all I'm getting from this conversation is that Lauren is pretty based.
|
| |
She's outspoken and tiny so people can both be intimated by her AND belittle her, gotta be a big win for these jabroni ass wimps
|
| |
damn females thinking they deserve to be treated with basic human respect and dignity
|
| |
Demanding respect is a feminine trait, ol grandpafred is just built different
|
| |
slex will you marry me
|
| |
Only because u asked nicely, that's how it's done smh
|
| |
"I'm sure it must get awfully tiring to perform night in and night out and have a bunch of men just yell at you about your appearance during every show with little appreciation for the art you make."
Do women not do this to male performers they're obsessed with? I've seen it all the time at shows. Women going nuts for the male lead singer. Hell, my ex was like that with Davey Havok from AFI. It was obnoxious. I've heard stories of women grabbing his balls when he goes into the crowd. That's pretty f'd up.
|
| |
Yeah in general fans are trifling lol
|
| |
“Do women not do this to male performers they're obsessed with?”
Yeah, this is a valid and thoughtful point. I certainly can’t deny it. I also don’t think it makes Lauren any less justified in her actions, and it’s important to remember the extra danger and power this dynamic has against female performers due to our patriarchal societies and the rape culture perpetrated within them. Regardless, it’s certainly a double standard that should be reconciled.
|
| |
Lauren has been dealing with shitty men for a long time, I remember she was wearing a short skirt in a music video and she was accused of being a slut for doing it. She’s constantly harassed at shows, commented on for her looks, and several times I’ve seen people say the bands popularity rests entirely on how “cute” she is. She’s not putting up with shit anymore, and that gets her more shit. She’s not insufferable, the only thing she does that rubs me the wrong way is her reaction to criticism of their music. She can’t take negative criticism very well, and that’s led to many thinking she’s egotistical
|
| |
"she's not nearly as cute...as she thinks she is"
Lauren is cute as fuck, shut up lmao
i follow her on the gram, she's posted nothing that i've noticed that made me think "wow, what an insufferable douche". i imagine she's had to deal with plenty of shitty men in her position so tbh, go off queen
|
| |
this was pretty alright, not too great not too bad just o k
|
| |
[2]
|
| |
Ya'll are nuts, this shit fucks.
|
| |
Might check it, might not
