Here's a shitty comment
A shame he only reunites with Hoppus and Barker when something bad happens to them.
| |
You're not wrong tbh, but fuck it I'm hyped
| |
Matt Skiba waking up this morning like Bush on September 11th
| |
Good news for Blink fans and Alkaline Trio fans alike!
| |
Wohooooooo!
[teenager nostalgia intensifies]
| |
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
| |
+44 > Alkaline Trio > Blink
| |
Are California and Nine even cannon now
| |
nice
| |
I totally get it, but Tom's been quite moody about Blink after he left the second time. Same for Hoppus and Barker regarding his interest in the band. It would be nice if they found a way to remain together even if they drop an album at 5 years or so.
| |
> Are California and Nine even cannon now
Just two bad dreams to forget.
| |
Honestly, anything without Tom should never have been called Blink 182 anyway
Like him or not, he’s one of the most recognisable vocalists of all time and was the main frontman of the band
| |
Mark: 'I believe in aliens cos.. Tom's a trekkie'
Tom: 'That's right I was abducted and.. probed in the anus'
| |
Tom Sexlonge
| |
Tom the schlong
| |
Do people consider Tom the main frontman? I've always seen it as 50/50 with him and Mark, although the last few albums he's defo sung more songs.
| |
People who still make immature sex jokes at 35 are stoked
| |
i myself prefer the mature sex jokes
| |
--Fuck yeah we are.--
To each his own, I guess :D
| |
Tom is Spooked up with sauce now. I wonder if this means project Blue Beam is being delayed for a bit.
| |
stoked for the dick jokes too
| |
BEST NEWS EVER!!!! I can’t believe I’m finally going to be able to see them live holy fuckin shit !!!!! YES!!!! New music too!!!!!!
| |
didn’t know people stopped making dick jokes at any age
| |
"To each his own, I guess :D"
cringe
| |
I hope they don't work with John Feldmann if they ever do another record.
| |
Agreed, should collab with Corey Feldman instead
| |
this band makes me miserable lmao
| |
monumental day for annoying people
| |
'monumental day for annoying people'
Love multi-dimensional ambiguous sentances like these, it's like a work of art that you can see two different ways to produce 2 equally accurate/believable but bifferent objects
| |
doesn't matter, their next album will still be worse than their last two
| |
Feel like he wasn't gone for that longe.
| |
Arte.. luv you longe time
| |
can't wait for the cat like thief to everything's magic transition before they play a deep cut from the neighborhoods album
| |
I mean a band is like a job, who can blame Tom if he wanted a break from blink?
Older I get I understand these situations are far more complicated and I’d hate if I was forced to stay at a job or in a relationship I grew out of simply because millions of other people wanted me to stay there.
| |
"A shame he only reunites with Hoppus and Barker when something bad happens to them."
What's this in reference to?
| |
Oh, that does indeed suck
| |
There is a million dates on this year-long world tour. Going to make retirement bank on this one. I would go to see them and turnstile but of course they are nowhere near me
| |
New +44 when, tho?
| |
Tom DeShlong.
| |
Tom DeShlong.
| |
If this means another AK3 album and more Neighborhoods/Dogs Eating Dogs era blink, I'm all for it.
But even though I thought California was a horrendous album and I never bothered listening to Nine, I hope that Matt parted on good terms with the band.
| |
Yeah hopefully more Alk3 and blink that doesn’t suck. Seems like a win-win!
I hope next time Tom leaves they replace him with Justin Mauriello, the best pop-punk vocalist of all-time
| |
almost a full Boxcar Racer reunion
| |
I'm fucking hyped, 20th anniversary for their self-titled approaching in 2023 btw
| |
I think I'm the only one that finds this news bizarre. They essentially used the guy from Alkaline Trio as an (effective) placeholder until Aliens & Airwaves wanted to return to the band. The smartest move here, in my opinion, would've just been to simply keep both Matt and Tom. While live shows no-doubt have backing tracks and/or guitarists play behind the scenes, it might've been nice to have 2 guitarists on stage, and add a good amount of versatility to the set. Plus, 'good vibes' and all of that.
| |
This news makes me pretty upset that Skiba didn't get a chance to have a solid album with the band. You could chop up their three albums (counting Deluxe) and get one pretty good album.
| |
not sure about new music, but a tour with Tom sounds cool
| |
Despite the first band I was ever a part of being predicated on learning a few of their songs, I never liked this band. Obviously there are some fun songs to listen to, but on a more modern note, I didn't think California was the worst thing I've ever heard. There was also some fun songs on that one.
It's almost like it doesn't really matter what these guys do musically. You're either nostalgic or you're a ride-or-die. Both camps are A-okay with them, because they're going to charge you $60 for nosebleeds.
| |
Ticket prices are insane according to reddit
| |
Full disclosure happens last show of the tour! I feel it in my loins!!!
| |
new song is fucking terrible
| |
wife got me tickets to the TO show, $110 ea +fees
honestly i'm not sure if i want to see them post-neighbourhoods...
but then again, i've never seen them live :o
| |
Real talk this band hasn’t made anything worthwhile since the self titled before they called it quits… but I get the paychecks literally write themselves whenever they tour
| |
I did not like the new song very much at all. I can't believe it's been three albums and they still let Mark Hoppus sound like a robot!
| |
The Aussie shows are going 400 bucks a ticket. I like Blink but fuckkkkk that
| |
For me, the new song is pretty good, nostalgic blink feeling.
| |
Song ass
| |
"The Aussie shows are going 400 bucks a ticket. I like Blink but fuckkkkk that"
LMAO,
I saw Blink in Sydney in 1997 I think, at the Equinox festival with Tool, Skunk Anansie, Midnight Oil, and others, and I was one of the maybe 100 people who had heard of them before. Singing Carousel at the top of my lungs. Good times.
| |
The price here is around 250 Euro on average. I seriously thought about it and I do still want to see them. haven't listened to them since that Dog Eats Dog EP. been one decade literally.
| |
"I was one of the maybe 100 people who had heard of them before. Singing Carousel at the top of my lungs. Good times. "
woah, that is early.
| |
Song is good and we got DeLonge back, I couldn't be more grateful
| |
Its really jarring knowing these guys are in their 50s and writing this sort of music.
| |
Neck Deep and Falling In Reverse and kinda in the teen lyricism also. I guess this type of music is for people trying to grow up (or not)
| |
Song sucks
| |
The new song was quite forgettable. :|
| |
Yeah now that I've heard it in full I'm really not big on it
| |
definitely not my favorite thing theyve ever done lol but it had moments i kinda dug
| |
New song is so boring and safe, even by Blink standards. It’s a conglomeration of all the worst aspects of the band’s sound. You’ve got an iconic and legendary world class rock drummer and you opt for over produced drum machine sounding, basic and straightforward drums. It’s all so lazy. How you gonna make the the big Tom delonge is back announcement and follow that up with a trash, forgettable b-side sounding radio rock song?!
| |
New song sucks
| |
StrizzMatik, I saw them when they reunited in 09 and they were awesome.
| |
new song just reminded me why i stopped caring about them after their first break up. yikes
| |
I don’t understand people worrying that blink aren’t good playing their instruments live. They are great live because of their entertainment value, not nailing a song tight.
I saw them headline Reading festival the year Tom was back in the band and it was so much fun. I hope for all you guys going to the shows that Tom is in the same mood as he was that night because he just smiled the whole show, cracked stupid jokes and seemed like he wanted to be doing what he was doing more than anything else in the world.
| |
Songs ok, but it's just weird seeing dudes who are over the hill perform this kind of music.
| |
Song is pretty bad. Chorus is decent.
The whole "grab a rope, grab a rope, grab a rope" cadence is awful
| |
New one is a throwback [2] Use the most classic blink sound to promote tour sales
| |
Happy for the fans and for the band but this kinda sounds too much like their commercial peak for my tastes, feels like they haven't got much to show for the intervening 2 decades other than grayer hair and deeper smile lines. Of course toning down the dick jokes is a welcome change given their age but you still gotta replace that with something yanno
| |
"Yeah, Blink are clearing betting on a shit ton of nostalgia and possibly people willing to pay extra just in case a tour with the original members never happens again. Me? I won't bother."
I mean, yeah obv. https://www.whenwewereyoungfestival.com/
| |
At least fans get to hold their noses when they sing along at Blink shows again =]
