Sounds like Ville Friman is all over this which is no bad thing. Could be described as standard fare but I haven't been fond of their recent output and I'm happy to hear something more riff-driven again.

I really enjoyed this. Argent Moon was kinda poop but it sounds like they're very much on the right track here. I'll always be excited for a new Insomnium album.

It's fine. Winter's Gate showed that they can still write exciting music, so it's a shame that they're defaulting to the standard melodeath format they've been doing for 10 years.

Yeah there are some shades of STDIACD riffage and that's my favorite album. This doesn't quite measure up to anything on that album but at least this isn't purely melancholic soundscape insomnium like they've been doing lately
