PVRIS unleash "Goddess" single

2023-01-27 by Matty CONTRIBUTOR | 20 Comments
Experimental pop/rock band PVRIS have released a brand-new single entitled "Goddess" via Hopeless Records. Lynn Gunn has been quoted as saying "It's a celebration of femininity, all shapes and forms, and a cathartic, guttural scream at the same time."

It actually bumps, one of the best songs they've released of late.

Most cringe-inducing song I've heard in a long time. She has a fairly pretty sounding voice but decides to drown it in copious amounts of production. Pepperidge Farm remembers when this "band" made interesting music

It's a modern Maroon 5 composition with unintelligible vocals altered to the point of lifelessness

^ Are you trying to say that some bands deliberately throw lifeless filters, compression and production shit at a wall to make up for the fact they don't know how to write solid music with an interesting persona?

Eh, this isn't bad but I don't love it.

I feel like every since PVRIS became the "all about Lynn Gunn show" their music has been on the decline.

It’s alright! Better than anything off their last album at least

No? I said they used to make interesting music, so it's certainly not them covering up what they're incapable of doing. It's more so them just being capable but choosing not to

I guess that was just me being bad at humour then. Cause that's the general pallet and symptoms from way too many crappy pop bands out there.

Sounds like Kesha after finding out about fuzz pedals.

Caught this group at Riot Fest a few years ago and they were surprisingly fun live. This....not really sure what the hell they are going for here lol It's undeniably catchy, but seems way too forced

@radianteclipse - I never actually pieced together how similar the two bands are until just now. Both in name and in sound.

lynn's description for this (guttural scream, really?) made me so hesitant, track is better than i expected. its catchy mindless shit for me personally.

that said.... white noise blows this away.
