Damn, wishing him the best. Seeing him over the summer helped get me into tech death

Drums on the last 1 - 2 minutes of Venom Upon the Blade are some of my favorite ever.
|
| |
Could be good new for the band sonically. The drums are so over produced and triggered and rely way to heavily on double bass.
|
| |
"announced his departure from the band to focus on his personal life."
I was in this exact situation when I was in my old band. we finally after many years decided to try and make a real push, but it was just too late, I needed to step back and focus on more important things. good on him for realizing it

Great drummer, hope he continues to play elsewhere.
|
| |
That's a shame. He could definitely get a little complacent with the material, but no doubt he was an incredibly talented drummer.
|
| |
Dang, that leaves Carstairs as the last founding member right?
|

Great drummer, hope he continues to play elsewhere (2)

That's a shame, he's a killer drummer. I know some people complain about him overplaying or going into double bass autopilot sometimes but I really enjoy the vast majority of his performances.

Kinda can’t blame the guy. Feels like they hit their hype-peak almost a decade ago. Fallujah drums have always had a very memorable place in the band for me.
Scott still rules of course. Interested in whatever new stuff comes about. Sucks it didn’t work out better for him.

Damn, dude was mad talented! Wish him the best
|

good decision. last album was ass and he knew it yo.

Great drummer. These guys were so much fun live too. Nomadic and The Flesh Prevails were their masterworks. I Don't think we'll see those highs again.

who literally gives a shit about this band in 2023

they only give figurative shits

Spawn of possession 5’d lol

I can't imagine trying to maintain a living in these sorts of bands. Fallujah, I'm sure, has a strong following but not to the extent that I would feel comfortable dedicating a career to it. Don't know if that played in to his decision, but I imagine that has to factor in to situations where members exit the band.

Damn that's a fucking bummer, losing both the o.g vocalist (who controlled much of the bands atmospherics) and now one of the greatest drummers in all of tech death is a lot to replace. Empyrean was a wonderful evolution though so perhaps this can turn in the same manner. Best of luck to Baird and all his future endeavors regardless.

He did the drums for Mordant Rapture's last EP, maybe they'll grab him again in the future. Seems like a great fit for their sound.
