preetty weak vocals here, what the fuck happened to Grohl, he used to have crazy passion and give it his all with vocals, chorus sounds like a verse, bizarre

Not terrible, but not very remarkable either. kind of like the rest of the foo's albums as of late...
| |
lol who added squirrel bait to foo fighters similar bands?
| |
actually super diggin the In Your Honor vibes. i like the sentiment of the lyrics but the execution leaves a lot to be desired
regardless, they deserve some catharsis in the form most special to them. hoping it's a good one

I think it's pretty obvious why there might not be as much passion in this album, it's not an album any of them want to make but they probably think they *have* to make it to prove to themselves that they can continue without Taylor. After that they might get the drive to actually push themselves again.
Also think it's quite likely that Dave is on drums for this album.
| |
The thing that is really bugging me about this is his pronounciation of the word resCUED. It's such a non-fun cap-off to the main melody.
| |
"Not terrible, but not very remarkable either"
^this, decent song. Wonder who'll be their new drummer
| |
Pretty standard Foo Fighters song. It's not bad! Doesn't sound like a single though. Looking forward to the album, listened to a lot of Foo Fighters recently!
| |
Foo Fighters are here
| |
Wow. Very surprising announcement imo but I'm excited about it. I honestly like this song a lot - I agree that it's very In Your Honor-esque.
| |
Most likely Dave played the drums. In a way they should have waited maybe until next year to release an album, but this way they can move on.
| |
Alright song, kind of Everlong-ish in places. Been a while since I gave a damn about Foo Fighters, but this kinda makes me want to check out the new album when it's out.
| |
I don't hate this, it has good vibes
| |
better than most of the shit they've put out in the last 10 years. Dave killed Taylor
| |
New song sounds incredibly uninspired, and borderline butt-rock territory. Was expecting more after all the turmoil the band just went through.
Saying there is no passion because they felt they "Had to release something." is an insane take. They haven't made anything even close to interesting since Wasting Light.
| |
Definitely agree with the In Your Honor vibes from this song. The track feels very classic FF, which I appreciate.
PS: The Teacher is a ten minute song.
| |
@MCJACKDAHL - Bit of a bold statement to make my guy. To each their own I suppose.
| |
“Dave killed Taylor”
What?
| |
i know several people who like teh foo fighters so i try not to form negative opinions like "this song is boring and the chorus doesn't go anywhere or make any sense and the lyrics feel just like being in stasis" in case i can't disguise them later
| |
Why yes, it sure is Foo Fighters.
Zzz
| |
Pretty weird to see how wide and varied Grohl’s tastes and influences are, but his music sounds like it was written in 3 minutes
| |
Lyrics felt a bit off but other than that it's a good return to form. As much as I liked Medicine at Midnight it's good to get back to their pre-Concrete sound.
| |
They were always a singles band but now even the singles are boring
| |
"In Your Honor" vibes; song's good.
| |
The most boring band of all time.
| |
Better than any song since Wasted Light, bar one or two from Sonic Highways. It's not amazing, but I like it.
| |
Wish they could manage another Wasting Light but I doubt that ever happens

Obv this site loves to hate FF but honestly really digging this song a lot, it sounds like the title track from "In Your Honor" or maybe even "Cheer Up Boys" from Echoes. Really good, feel like this is one of the only bands maintaining the "hard rock" genre without much competition. They've really carved out a niche for themselves.
| |
"Pretty weird to see how wide and varied Grohl’s tastes and influences are, but his music sounds like it was written in 3 minutes"
lol yeah after sonic highways that's always been super apparent to me. the band records a song in eight different cities with the intent of making each and every song have the unique feel of said city's music history... only for the songs to be just about the same as what they always put out. awesome documentary tho
| |
I think this is one of the better post-Sonic Highways songs. Since that album, they have not been very consistent or, really, good on the whole but every once in a while they can put out a banger. I think this is promising enough
| |
It's definitely Dave on drums here.
| |
I actually like this, better than anything off Medicine for sure
curious to hear that 10 minute song for sure
| |
I like the fuzzy sound, great song
| |
Wow this is really weak and forgettable. What happened to this band
| |
it's okay local plebs will eat this up and ask for seconds
| |
Still better than anything after Wasting Light.
| |
low bar
| |
Sadly very true..
