Unsurprisingly sounds like Slayer, I like it.

Killer lineup, OK song.
| |
yes this is indeed a Kerry King song
| |
He's never going to grow up is he?
| |
^^Nope, for his sake and probably ours.
| |
I dig Mark's vocals, more aggressive than Death Angel which fits the song. Otherwise it is a painfully average Kerry King song. In my opinion Kerry King hasn't written anything remotely interesting since Christ Illusion.
| |
You be you Kerry. Frankly it's impressive to insist so vehemently on such a mediocre style of music.

Its...fine. I guess I'm just becoming too old for this type of thrash songwriting.

is eternal separation from god and bad solos worse than normal hell or is it an infinity+1 scenario

"Lombardo's dead to me"
-KK, FEBRUARY 5, 2024
| |
Yeah it's predictably dull, trite, played out like all these legacy acts releasing mediocrity to great applause.
Slayer 2.0, meet the new boss. Yeah, this is the shlock so many have been waiting for, and the banner crappy festivals have been waving to prove they have anything left to offer.
| |
Lame song, lame lineup. Correct title would be: "Kerry King has no ideas"
| |
This sounds like Kerry King playing with Death Angel. I didn't hate it tbh but yeah, painfully average.
In any case, remember that his managers wanted Phil Anselmo as the singer for this, so you can say we dodged a bullet there.
| |
@Dewinged: More like sounds like Death Angel filling in the places of Slayer around Kerry King. These riffs and especially the lyrics are 100% out of that shiny dome.
| |
Really, what’s the point? This just sounds like mediocre 00s slayer material lol.
| |
the last slayer performance with interesting guitar work came out in 83
| |
got em
| |
Straight up trash. Who cares if Paul and Phil are on this. Death Angels singer? Get the fuck out, Death Angel are F grade thrash. This album should pile up in dumpsters everywhere once it gets released.
| |
damn dude
| |
ehhhh, average but that arrangement is pretty rough. the verse sections just sound weak compared to the bridge. on the other hand the vocals sound better during the verses than whatever megadeth-esque vox he was going for during the bridges. but yeah song kinda flatlines at a certain point than just starts repeating itself, the solo sounds like an afterthought aswell.
lineups good but i'm expecting they chose the most slayer-y song they could for a single, hoping the albums a little less straightforward. and i remember death angel being pretty good but i probably haven't jammed any of their albums since i was like 14
| |
death angel is pretty boring
| |
tbf i was probably playing like cod4 when i heard them
| |
shouldve been playing bf1942 !
| |
So obvious that they knew its the sound that sells and not the songwriting
| |
lmfao, i got on the battlefield train with bf2, trying to think of what my winamp looked like then. probably like megadeth, nin, or reel big fish lmao
| |
bf2 was the last iteration i played but i played it for a looooooooong time with the pr and fh2 mods
| |
after 2, bad company 2 was the only one i got into for a few years, every game afterwords just felt like the same shit with more annoying maps.
and now that i think of it i was probably just getting into hell awaits/south of heaven when bf2 was comin out
| |
I love how there are people here asking if Kerry King will "ever grow up" lmao. Song is solid.
| |
Should have gone with a power ballad, Kerry.
Song is alright.
| |
Trash
| |
ok wow this really sucks, riffs are lame af
| |
has Kerry ever had hair?
| |
He did, and make up.
| |
good on ya kezza
| |
Sounds like Kerry King’s 72 seasons. It’s uncomplicated nostalgia metal
| |
Sounds familiar, whether good or bad
| |
fuck yeah Mark Osegueda, although it's a bit weird how here he is tamer than current Death Angel? Guess other songs will be more aggressive
| |
and no baaaaaaaaaallllllllssssss
| |
@BAT you should check out post scriptum aka squad 44
| |
Stacked line-up, not gonna lie. Song is extremely forgettable though.
| |
sam kinison on vocals
| |
honestly i give KK points for diggin satan and not writing some CNN song like jeff and tom would want
| |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gIgu1ytgXI
here's a solid breakdown of the track
| |
i give it a solid 2.49
| |
Generally I don't comment about comments, but a couple of them all but dumbfounded me.
This is 72 seasons of Slayer? Seriously?
I wish 72 seasons Metallica could play with half the ferocity of this track.
Also Death Angel F tier thrash?
And yeah, this is nothing new under the sun, but to call this geriatric thrash is a far cry, as far as I'm concerned.
| |
I usually don't agree with other commenters lol but yeah there's nothing generic about this even if it's mediocre. There's no such thing as "generic" thrash. Thrash is thrash.
| |
Not great tho for sure
| |
72 seasons is genuinely more interesting than this. The song sounds like royalty free slayer. clunky as fuck and the vocals, while good, seem layered over the music as if the singer had never heard the song before. totally forgettable. the one really solid riff is one we've heard in about 20 other slayer songs.
| |
>There's no such thing as "generic" thrash.
But it is geriatric.
| |
Kerry King is a highly regarded individual and everything he's done musically for the last 30 years has been highly regarded.
| |
whoa this sounds like slayer
| |
As soon as I heard the band name was "Kerry king" I knew this was going to be the most creative shit ever
| |
cool song but doesn't stand out from the massive body of work that is thrash
| |
