Adrian Belew is joining forces with Tony Levin, Danny Carey, and Steve Vai to perform music from King Crimson's 1980s iteration. The band will be called Beat. So far, only one show has been announced, in San Diego on September 17 at Concerts By The Bay.

In a Facebook post, Robert Fripp wrote: "This is the project that Adrian Belew called me about last Autumn, a project which I support and fully encourage, and discussed with Steve Vai recently at McCabes in Santa Monica (3march2024). Even, I suggested the name."

Vancouver, please. I saw Adrian and Jerry Harrison do the Remain In Light tour last year and it was funky as all get out.

Cool. That is one hell of a combo of musicians.

Well, I saw King Crimson back in 2019 and it was glorious (the Augusta Raurica amphitheater contributed to the solemnity).
They mostly played songs from the 60s and 70s so I'd love to see this project too.

Probably the best drummer they could've tapped for this era of Crimson besides Bruford himself.

While I own and dig Discipline, had the chance of buying Beat and Three of a Perfect Pair on CD in the naughts for a ridiculous price, and I didn't, oh well...

I'm jealous of whoever will attend these shows.

Although I partly agree, just the sheer fact these songs will be performed and sang by Adrian Blew and Tony Levin will be a huge plus. I too watched King Crimson live in 2019 and, although they were great especially instrument wise, the vocals were easily my least liked part. Imagine watching them play Indiscipline with Belew on vocals and guitar, that would be outstanding.
