| DoofDoof I think I split listening to 69 Songs into three or four separate listening sessions - they are a band I checked soon after signing up to sput back around 2015, was checking LastFM and I have listened to less than a hundred
| DoofDoof I dont get them really, dont hear anything special in his song writing?but they are a huge cult indie band so I keep trying every now and then
| AsleepInTheBack I?m sorry Neek you failed the test the answer was drugs. In fairness it is probably Drugs or SAW1 so you?re gucci
| AsleepInTheBack Good drugs rating nice nice. Fave Aphex currently is what? This is not a test
| ArsMoriendi Only other Pram I know is Helium, so if you checked more than that you'd know more than I do lol
| JohnnyoftheWell Oh yesss lol, start and end runs on that album are wild. Shivers all over the shop
| Sunnyvale No real due date, but by the end of this month at the latest would be great. Thank you!
| Sunnyvale Hi neeka! Any interest in writing up an album of the month blurb for Chelsea Wolfe? If so, just drop the Google docs link in my shoutbox once you're ready. Thanks!
| Demon of the Fall Yeah, I want to but am gonna do some much needed background research first inc. their previous project! This is a brilliant shoutbox by the way... Pram AND Minilogue (2) to both!
| Trifolium Maybe this is cheating, but you certainly have to check out Blomma by Minilogue, it's one of my fave records ever. It's a '10s progressive house and or techno record. Did I rec it before, I forgot? Soooo colourful and alive and hypnotising OMGGGGGG.
| Trifolium Yipppppeeeeeeeee glad you liked them, they were truly my 2023 darlings. And, like the rest of your shoutbox visitors, happy staffing neek, congratulations!
| ArsMoriendi You should review Sargasso Sea by Pram so I can talk about it. I would, but I already did their album Helium last year...
| Demon of the Fall Nice call on Sound of the Satellites, fantastic album! (Been considering reviewing it for a while - a rarity for me)
| Davil667 Hey neeka! Bit late to the party but congrats on your promotion! Very well deserved :]
| Dylan620 just saw you made staff, congrats!!
| brainmelter yooo have you heard of the new Osgood Perkins horror movie Longlegs? it looks SO good, congrats on the promotion btw
| Trifolium https://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/86920/Craven-Faults-Standers/
| Trifolium https://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/86478/Weval-Remember/
| Trifolium These were my two faves, first one is lovely electronic (housy techno with trip hop from NL), the second one is veeery hypnotic, repetitious techno from Scotland. Loved both A LOT. Hope you do too.
| budgie dont look down ur ****in nose at me
| mryrtmrnfoxxxy hey hey glad you dug it :) think they just released a new EP too but i haven't listened yet
| Atari hell yeah, bud - glad you like them!! might be worth checking Gospel as well. It's not as experimental but tbh that's where the magic really started with them
| anat I?m afraid so :?( it will mean you aren?t able to vote for this round either, but so long as you submit for round 2 you are still good to participate
| anat here is the music league invite! https://app.musicleague.com/l/004d2f82d05d44e19bda3ca879cf8119/
| Pangea i'm glad you liked it :)
| Irikeheavymetal Funny enough the singer probably reminisces about that time a lot too, its all she posts now since she hasn't been too relevant since then.
| Irikeheavymetal That album is guilty pleasures from a very dark time in my life (2014) where reminiscing about 2008 scene girls was an escape. Still pretty good for what it is.
| SlothcoreSam Glad you dig, their earlier stuff it's pretty solid as well. Polaroid People is a great EP and worth checking next.
| budgie https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13857556/
| budgie CAAANDY LAAAAAAAAAAAAAND
| budgie thats what im sayin!!!!
| budgie its a site full of music elitists they would vote for the obscure productions
| IsildursBane44 Hey Neek! I don't know if you remember me, but I just dropped a new album last week and would be delighted if you gave it a spin! https://open.spotify.com/album/4xIsjgpiQvPWrpxWeXi3uI?si=QK3w2VgXRB6xA0KjFxZdTA
| PotsyTater Populous - W (this one is a really good selection for pride month)
| PotsyTater i dont know how much you actually care for more on this dancehall influenced tip so feel free to disregard if you're over it but things just keep popping up in my playlist lol: Dua Saleh - Crossover
| mryrtmrnfoxxxy i caved and looked at your picture in Desktop View. took me a minute to understand what you were doing with it but when i did i had a good time. had a good laugh about Pep's placement, that's a good one. Interpol was clever too. good list
| PotsyTater If you want to hear more dancehall influence in pop peep the new Amaarae album (she features on one of the new Janelle Monae tracks and she is v good)
| budgie https://long-beard.bandcamp.com/track/posters
| theBoneyKing And both on track to hit 2k soon! You have anything planned for the occasion?
| theBoneyKing Whoa we currently have the exact same number of ratings
| Trifolium Nice! Looking forward to it, thanks for spreading the word!
| Trifolium They're on my never shrinking-ever growing pile of records to check! Will tell you how it went.
| budgie you should check zelma stone's the best EP

| MarsKid Hey man! Head on down to the 'trib forum when you get the chance, it is BLURB SEASON time! :^)
| fogza hey neek, are you gonna do SOTD next month? or is the idea not fully formed yet?
| sevEn First things first... how is it possible you haven't heard this?! https://slint.bandcamp.com/album/spiderland
| sevEn Are you open to new stuff, my man?
| Sowing Not really my usual style tbh, but VERY catchy. I feel like it's in the 3.5 range but could go higher if it catches me in the right mood. First 3 songs are incredible and will keep me coming back...
| Sowing Oops I'm getting around to it, I swear
| MarsKid Not an inconvenience, my man! I'm sorry you aren't able to join us this go-around. Hope the gig goes well!
| MarsKid Starting now: https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=200111
| Sharenge curious of your take on that ending - I presumed that we were seeing him dying from eating the plastic candy-bar thingy (and that's certainly the takeaway I got from that ****ing expression on his face lol), however I saw another take that claimed otherwise and said that he was actually a plastic-eater and didn't mention or seem worried at all about the possibility that him eating it would kill him... even though we clearly see earlier in the film what happens when non-plastic-eaters eat them
| Sharenge coincidentally, high quality torrents became available that same night I left that comment, so I watched it just a couple of hours later... not sure how I feel about it at this point definitely need to do a repeat viewing as I think a lot was lost on me the first time around and I struggled to follow alongI also didn't attribute as much importance as I probably needed to to the fact that they are living in a world where people no longer have pain sensation so I'm glad you pointed that out
| Sowing Stop what you're doing and listen to Lizzy McAlpine's new album
| sevEn love you guys and Neek'd: Coldplay are my favs :)
| Colton a friend of a friend put out an album, it's a really great indie folk album you might like https://www.sputnikmusic.com/soundoff.php?albumid=429123 I didn't expect much when my friend told me about it but it's honestly one of the best folk albums I've heard in a while
| sevEn yeah you have a great taste
| someone d e l e t e after using (damn sputnik autocensorship)
| someone would you like to be put on our discord chat?

| someone oh, i see. Bloon maybe? you have any contact with him still?
| someone dyou still have access to the old sputcast soundcloud account? Bloon seems to be inactive
| sevEn you make it hard for me to look at all of them!
| sevEn Of all your lists which one is your favorite?
| theBoneyKing Since I see you bumping LDR threads be sure to check out my response to you in the Ethel Cain thread, you may well be pleased by it ;D
| budgie https://music.saysue.me/album/the-last-thing-left
| budgie https://hazelenglish.bandcamp.com/album/summer-nights-ep i feel like these singles have gone unnoticed
| Rowan5215 friend it's so ****ing good. can't stop listening to Born it is extraordinary. gotta review this mf
| IsildursBane44 For sure! If you want to you can find me on Instagram under my artist name!
| IsildursBane44 Aww thanks dude! The closer is my favorite too! I may try to lean into that a little more in the future! I've got more songs coming soon!
| IsildursBane44 Hey Neeka! I know you really like a bunch of folk and more acoustic styled music, and I was wondering if you'd check out my EP I just put out. It's under the name Bateman Bridge, and the EP is 5 songs and only about 10 minutes long. I put it in the database, but for some reason I can't get the album cover to go through correctly.
| Lasssie Those songs are part of the soundtrack to my days back in college kinda too so hope you like em
| bgillesp First year isn?t as bad as you would think. Just a bit monotonous. Next year is where the *fun* starts, lol
| Lasssie Yes their songs on the The World Is a Beautiful Place.. Split is amazing but unfortunately their albums dont really come close to that i think.. Their EPs i havent heard. First check those songs and you can check their debut if you like those songs but for me their albums as a whole arent really that good yeah
| tyman128 happy late birthday! completely missed that list yesterday lol
| bgillesp I?m good (: About to finish up year 1 of med school so that?s a big relief at the moment.
| Lasssie Seeing you liked the Deer Leap/The World is A Beautiful Place.. split, allow me to recommend you to check out the Deer Leap songs "Home" and "Walls Became The World All Around". Sorry for bothering you but im a scorpio, soo
| bgillesp Just wanted to say Happy Birthday directly since my messages on your list are getting buried under an argument. Happy to hear you?re happy with your identity now!
| Sowing your relentless and obnoxious posting about the new Jack White got me to finally check it out, and after all that ****ing nonsense all I have to say is... .... ...THANK YOU ;-)
| tectactoe Sweetness! Gimme, like, a couple weeks to finish watching some other stuff that i?ve had queued up forever and then we can get started haha. In the meantime, if you have trouble finding any of his movies let me know and I can probably get you a link. I know a few are streaming on Criterion Channel, if you have that. (Recommended for any cinephile!)
| tectactoe Sorry it took me so long to get back to you! I'm actually amid finishing up Hitchcock and Weerasethakul's canons, too (the former a bunch of old/obscure and frankly awful movies, just for the sake of completionism lol). But one director with a relatively compact filmography whom I've always wanted to get around to (but haven't yet) is Wong Kar-wai. Only ever saw IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE and CHUNGKING EXPRESS, both very long ago. Would you be interested?
| budgie the full length was announced, check her bandcamp again
| budgie https://anniehamilton.bandcamp.com/track/night-off new
| tectactoe when you said you wanted to join me on a 'director films ranked' thingie, did you mean that you'd like to venture through a specific director's filmography at some point? if so, any directors that currently pique your interest? just finished the last woody allen film i needed to complete his canon - do not recommend btw - so i'll soon be looking for another director to binge (or finish). any prospects?
| dedex oi this is a reminder: shorturl.at/hxC89
| Pheromone i like your 10x10 album list photo its very cool
| Jom They are invisible! Not nuked!! It's not that exciting, tragically!!! Did you have a preferred window for when your featurette gets published? Around the same window as last year? Cheers.
| tectactoe Much appreciated! That reminds me, it?s been a while since I?ve done one. Might need to rectify that soon?
| garas Hello! This is a reminder/notification for something [contributors only]. More info here: shorturl.at/hxC89
| tectactoe Just a buff! Took a film class in college as an elective (no intention on working in film) and it sort of sparked an interest that just snowballed over the years, especially throughout the rest of college and the several years thereafter when I had copious amounts of free time (i.e., no wife and kids lol).
| dmathias52 Ayo, check the contrib forums to call dibs for end-of-year list
| SlothcoreSam Nice write up, it's such an eclectic album with hits and misses, it almost requires a deeper inspection just to get a handle on it.

| Kompys2000 I promise to balance out my low LP ratings by writing a passionate defense of "Shadow of the Day" in liiiiiike a year and a half when I get to 2007 on PopGoesTheYear lol

| hel9000 that's sweet man! Ontario's in a kinda-sorta lockdown so work is slow atm for me, it'll pick back up soon though. and yeah lol not only were there not really any albums i was interested in reviewing for a while, but i was getting a little burned out on describing ambient music - oh, it "creates a space for healing and calmness"? we geeeedddiittttt. looking forward to reading what you put out next bud.

| bgillesp Not sure how much 2020 cramming you?re doing but the Ocean Alley album I just listened to was pretty excellent and could be up your alley
| bgillesp Our graphs on the rating curves Trif did look very similar. I think we both have the strongest bias towards giving everything a 4/5
| robertsona More moon kissed https://youtu.be/UoyuY39xu48
| Lord(e)Po)))ts Hey man, i know we are in a pandemic and money is tight for everyone but I put together a gofundme for minushuman. I dont know if you saw his list but he suffered a pretty brutal loss this weekend and I thought maybe we could all chip in a few bucks and help him out with groceries or rent or whatever this month while he works through this tough time. If you can donate a few bucks and share this with some other users to help spread the word that would be awesome: https://gf.me/u/y743c5
| Atari hey bud. the new Madison Cunningham EP is lovely!! I don't know why I didn't care for her LP much but this is same damn solid stuff and reminds me why I fell in love with her last EP
