| GmemberKills Can you rec me any other albums that deliver the same kind of high energy? I've been checking out more Globe albums and while they are good, they don't quite scratch that same itch.
| GmemberKills I know i got it from a list of yours and just got around to it, but that Globe s/t album is so so good
| foxblood that chistmas ep of theirs is a hidden gem too. i'm checking out some of your 4.5s and 5s and I'm finding some really good stuff
| foxblood dude Inner City Posse - Dog Beats is crazy good, I agree on the 4.5. I'm kind of shocked by how much I lite it tbh, the beats are golden
| Sabrutin Oh I didn't know they were influent for it, but yeah now I think it makes sense with the super playful vocals! What surprised me about the album Sanctuary is how there's a bit in the first song in which the bass sounds absolutely "like modern prog metal" for its rhythm and tone, and then the second song starts and I'm immediately reminded of Steven Wilson.
| Sabrutin Hey man, really appreciate your lists. Have you ever checked out Novela - Sanctuary? Japanese prog album from the early 80s, really really modern sounding for the time
| SlothcoreSam The new Tsu Shi Ma Mi Re, is out and great. I notice you are the only one to check their other stuff.
| GmemberKills just wanted to vent and say I think im embarrassed by how much i like some of Onyanko Club's stuff lol
| rellik009 will be czeching those out asap(been craving industrial), have a good day brother/sister :] P.S. do you know Severed Heads? you might like them as well.
| rellik009 on that note what would you consider to be your fave industrial albums, regardless of subgenre?
| rellik009 i'll be quick and randomly just tell you that you're an amazing user.
| GmemberKills Yo! I recently jammed Akina Nakamori - Fushigi and enjoyed it so much i'm going through and jamming most of her other albums. Looks like you are sadly about the only who has rated any of her stuff on here so I figured I'd give you a shout.
| El Olam Thanks for all the Japanese bands you've added to the database!
| cordwainerbird i maintain that depeche has a little somethin for everyone - try A Broken Frame or Black Celebration. earlier sound is a lot more avant-garde and whimsical (for lack of a better term)
| prnzokoshiro your namesake is my fav album of all-time! nice bands
| Drifter Hey disco, long time no talk. How are you doing? If you are ever in a g funk mood you should check out 909 Boyz - Royal Flush.
| SandwichBubble Hey man, sorry to bother you, but do you have a copy of Machizo Machida and Kitazawagumi - Chuushajou no Yohane? | https://www.sputnikmusic.com/soundoff.php?albumid=184251 | I can't seem to find it anywhere.
| SlothcoreSam https://www.sputnikmusic.com/soundoff.php?albumid=346142
| JohnnyoftheWell Cool cool I'll have another trawl, and heck, you must be stacked with phys copies...
| JohnnyoftheWell Btw, dya know where I could find a downloadable copy of Coup d'Etat by Syrup16g? looked all over, but no joy (and the JPS link is a write-off :[)
| samwise2000 Didnt know there was a new Barbee Boys... saw it was in your digs, hype. Also, checked out Rebecca - Poison cause of your review... really good. I must say, you are probably on of the most knowledgeable users on the site when it comes to J-music!
| JohnnyoftheWell Ah s*** yeah! Is that an og relic, or are they still making occasional Lain merch??
| foxblood love the Libido Airbag ratings man, I really enjoy them a lot. I have a cool sweater with the Libido Airbag / Intestinal Slaughter split album cover on it.
| Drifter Check this list I made out: https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=188995
| samwise2000 Checked out Barbee Boys /5 after you placed it on one of your lists! Its really great!
| Drifter Fr?? I would never expect that. Interesting. I'll check it soon hopefully. You have Puff's debut at a 4.5 so I can trust you lol
| Drifter Whack rating for Ice Cube's War and Peace Vol 2. Album's dope af
| Drifter Whack rating for B-Legit's debut. Bumps hard
| Drifter Man half of those aren't even on my to-check list of REALLY unknown stuff. Thanks a bunch
| Drifter Discooooooooooooooo what's up man? How've you been? I desire west coast rap recs post 2k and before, w/ever, please and thx
| Jasdevi087 in which universe are L'arc-en-ciel similar, but Kuroyume and Glay aren't lol. also again, i fail to see how it matters that the similarity only goes one way (which is actually doesn't make any sense btw)
| Jasdevi087 I fail to see how that makes a difference
| Jasdevi087 see but that's just a completely pointless use of the feature though, it's common sense to look for the band's solo and side projects. Listing other bands for me is a better way to branch out and is what i'm actually looking for when I use that feature
| Jasdevi087 Cali Gari rip off Luna Sea all the time and Nightmare were literally born out of Luna Sea/X Japan/Kuroyume worship. and all of that would make sense if it were a "related" bands section, but it isn't: it's "similar" bands
| Jasdevi087 yeah it is me, I personally just can't stand seeing band pages where the entire similar bands section is side-projects and solo band members, seems super redundant and a poor use of the feature
| foxblood your Cowboy Troy soundoff made me lol because it's true. isn't that album the funniest/worst thing ever?
| foxblood Frankie Goes To Hollywood has a good born to run cover on that album, why just a 2?
| RunOfTheMill Hey disco, what do you think of Zi:Kill? You're the only user to have rated them, and you've rated them rather highly, do you listen to them regularly?
| Drifter Are you gonna do a no limit records ranked in the future? I think you're the person with the most ratigns for the albums on the label. I'm going to do it eventually but first I have to go through everything and since there's around 80, it'll take a while lol.
| Dedes 13k ratings jesus christ
| Drifter Yeah i like all things he does (he's my fav rapper after all) and that album rules so hard. Easy 4.5. Was listening to it over and over yesterday haha
| Drifter I love that you have 2pacalypse now 5d (:
| Prancer I saw you were the only rating on Bleach03's second LP. I was wondering how you were able to listen to it because I can't find it anywhere.
| foxblood i listened to the solo again earlier, it is pretty ridiculous! check the next two albums, they're so amazing.
| foxblood nice soundoff gargoyle is such a good ****ing band! one of my favorites from japan, i recommend all of their albums, especially the next four after misogi.
| foxblood i appreciate the album edits, i've come across so many albums that i probably would have had to add myself if you didn't lolol
| foxblood you're one of the best users on this site
| Stargazer777 Ello! Have you listened to Onmyouza's album from 2016?I listed it on here.
| Dysentry I can't help but noticed that you've rated The Audition by Saint Four? I have no idea where to find any of their discography other than their greatest hits, do you remember where you heard it? Thanks!
| literallyzach I just downloaded Dolce and am listening to it now. Suzuki is a really cool artist
| Drifter Yeah the bloods became "Damu Ridas" and the crips became "Nationwide Rip Ridaz." I really can't get enough of this group lol
| Drifter Damn I was aboutta add nationwide rip ridaz lol. Yeah man that sounds awesome thanks
| Drifter Nice, there are some seriously ****ed lyrics on these Bloods and Crips/Damu Ridas/Nationwide Rip Ridas albums, which is expected coming from who they were. I really like the concept for the group
| Drifter You should check Bangn on wax 2. It's MUCH better
| Drifter Sweet Snoop 5's. He gets too much hate
| Flugmorph u seem to know a lot about japanese music. Would you mind reccing me some j-pop and j-rock with female vocals?
| Aberf Well, you sure have a great memory.
| Aberf Jesus Christ, that many ratings?
| CalculatingInfinity Me and my friend crossparallel agreed that you should give Six/Nine another chance, that 2 is brutal man haha.
| CalculatingInfinity May have to give them a crack, everyone's top notch on the album. Is there anywhere online I can listen to their stuff because I can't find anywhere on the Web.
| CalculatingInfinity Hey man, just wondered you gonna check out Sakurai's solo project The Mortal?
| CalculatingInfinity With the amount of promotion she's been doing, it doesn't suprise me at all. She's been pushing this album so hard from all the posts I've seen on her FB over the post 6 months, I'm so happy it isn't a disappointment.
| Thealwaysopenedmind Hey. Where do I go to listen to Uri Gagarn's EP Souzou no Sanbutsu? I typed the name of the EP in and the first thing to pop up was your review for it.
| deathschool Ricosnfogneivneodnsofnfoenfienfienfienakaoeo!!!!!
| EasternLight Aha, understood. I was curious about it. I wish I could get a t shirt of theirs or something. But are they even active anymore, in terms of writing music? I saw they played a single show recently.
| EasternLight hey i see you are the only other person that listens to He on this site. Can I ask how you obtained their Re;Takes album?
| immortalizepain Oh sorry. I saw that you were the only one that rated Balloon's discography. Can I ask for them?
| Thealwaysopenedmind I've gotten quite a few good Japanese artists from your page so I thank you for that too.
| Thealwaysopenedmind Cool. Thanks. I'll check that one out. I'll probably end up listening to all of them but I wanted a good start.
| Thealwaysopenedmind I see you have the only ratings for all the Kagerou albums so I'm guessing you know the ins and outs of the band. Which album should I start with?
| graygalz ever listen to sleepy.ab? you might be interested
| TalonsOfFire Do you have the most ratings of anyone on the site?
| Jasdevi087 Hey dude, do you know anywhere I can stream Anti Feminism's stuff? I'd rather not download and I can't find there stuff even on Xiami which surprised me.
| Gmork89 Thanks i really appreciate it! I'm going to give them a shot and I'll let you know what I think.
| Gmork89 Hey man I see you know a lot about J-Rock and stuff like that I was wondering if you could give me some good recs? I like the pop-rock catchy side of it so far but I know basically jack s*** for good bands haha.
| Jasdevi087 fuuuuuuuuuuu only 997 more to go. I believe in you disco biq boi!
| deathschool 2015 will finally be the year you break 10,000. I'm excited
| wtferrothorn Holy s*** you've almost hit 8888 ratings. Do you eat? Or sleep? Or do anything besides listen to Japanese music?
| JohnDillinger Your profile is my new hobby :D seriously for an european you are but one of the few ways of exploring japanese music. thx for being here
| JohnDillinger Your profile is my new hobby :D seriously for a citizen you are but one of the few ways of exploring japanese music. thx for being here
| Jasdevi087 To be honest I don't remember it well, it's been a while haha. But I remember the second half of the album being really good but a couple of the songs were awful in the first half. I'll listen to it again and say for sure. It's just that there was no reaction to it at all anywhere, like there was no hype before or after it was released and no one's really talking about it anywhere.
| Jasdevi087 Hey man, did you ever check out BUCK-TICK's new album earlier this year?
| CalculatingInfinity Hey man, if you haven't heard Gackt's 45th single you need to. It's incredible, I love it when Gackt actually fleshes out his limitless potential: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjbZzjieHfI
| Xar both songs are pretty awesome so thanks for that. I'll keep lookin', hopefully I can come up with something. :/
| Xar "Japanese stooges" sounds so ****ing enticing. I wish I find anything about them. Not a fan of live performances unless I've already jammed the studio stuff. Rym gives me blanks and Google is bein a mess. If I don't get any studio stuff from some download on blogs or on slsk, I might have to give up tho.
| Xar tell me about the Japanese rock band sonhouse, bc I can't seem to find anythinga bout them.
| deathschool Can't wait for you to break 10,000 ratings and bring about the Sputpocalypse.
| Muisc4Life26 Thanks man! I'm really glad to see another Prince fan on here. I plan to review his discog sometime in the future.
| Necrotica Dude, it's cool to finally find a fellow J-pop fan on this site! I've sorta felt alone with knowing many of these artists, especially ones like Momoiro Clover Z or Morning Musume. Then again, I'm a total Japan freak anyway :P Either way, it's awesome that you're shedding light on those kinds of artists here :]
| Rhyme i hear you add a lot of Japanese artists to the site's database so what do you do when the artist's name is in Japanese characters?
| Thank you for all the reviews and ratings of Japanese albums you have provided to this site. It is quite difficult finding an English reviews of Japanese albums online. Would you be willing to exchange some Japanese music with me? You can get an idea of music I got via my last.fm profile: http://www.last.fm/user/supergoldzero.
| CaptainDooRight omg Ayumi Hamasaki is the best artist in the world, is there anyone better?
| Pheromone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOPnFedVAOAcheck it
| CalculatingInfinity I know you reviewed Mars but another won't hurt, if you decide to review it I'll be waiting for it :]
| CalculatingInfinity Also I think it would be cool if you did a review of it, since it doesn't have one and having more people checking out Gackt on Sput would be nice.
| CalculatingInfinity Ok, thanks anyway. Personally the album's probably going to end up as a 4.5 (although I find Mars superior, as evident by my soundoff), so I'll try to stick it out and decode the story.
| CalculatingInfinity Hey man, I've been recently jamming Re:Born by Gackt a ton and I'm really enjoying it but if possible can you question me a question about it if it's no trouble. From what I'm aware Re:Born has a complex story although since the lyrics are Japanese and many websites say many different things about it, I have no idea where to start or what it's about. Do you anything about the album's concept or any means behind certain songs?
| CaptainDooRight nice list bro. I really want to get into some Japanese music so I know you've reviewed a lot so I'll have to go through some of your reviews.
| Kralle Did you use to be on the dfd boards?
| Pheromone Hey man, do you happen to know How I can find The Bonez new album?
| Pheromone Also check out Condor44http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHNeH9Nw-c4that's their longest track from their best album
| Pheromone that's fair enough, I can't even play an instrument.
| Pheromone How do you get time to listen to so much music dude?
| RunOfTheMill Actually, any kind of Japanese music is good, I'm open to new experiences :D
| RunOfTheMill Hey there, I've noticed while lurking around that you're the go-to person on the site for Japanese music. I've been trying to find some good Jap metal bands recently (I'm in love with X, so). Could you possibly point me in the right direction? :P
| Pheromone If you do check out Modern Age, it's by far their best
| Pheromone You might like this track www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhPEi6zz4io?I had a mate that told me they were a pretty sweet band and for the most part they're pretty average but that is definitely their best track.
| Pheromone Cheers man, listening to it now, that bass line in Kirameki is killer
| Pheromone About the Buck-Tick album, do you know where I would be able to find that anywhere? I can't find any streaming sites with it on and it doesn't ship over to England
| Pheromone I've been meaning to check out Judy and Mary for some time now but I've never gotten around to it. On another note I see you've rated a lot of Buck-Tick and I'm probably going to start on their discog sometime in the next week so I was wondering on a good place to start?
| Pheromone What do you think of YUKI? I recently went back and listened to basically her whole discog and I was presently surprised, particularly with the album PRISMIC, and I basically saw that you were the only one who has rated her works and you gave them pretty high scores.
| ethos lol you posted on your own page but tons of respect for that
| ethos thanks mannnnnn, lmao damn this site rules i asked you and someone else and the other person beat you to it but i definitely appreciate it. for some reason i just couldn't find it, do you live in japan??
| ethos also, thank you for the aco rec - unique stuff, dreamy mood (although it's kinda hard to sleep to) that i'm sure will grow with a bit of time.
| ethos can you help me find akina nakamori's fushigi? i've been scouting it out on soulseek/various blogs and can't track it down
| Captain North Hey man, since you seem to be one of sputniks foremost Japan experts, could you give any recs for a fan of Ling Tosite Sigure? (they're my absolute favourite band btw)
| VlacDrac If you like noise maybe you would like it, I'd rec you Trapped in an Organic room, kinda droney, I like it.
| treeqt. does your nandacollection rating imply it leaked?
| Havey Hi man I've got a theory and I think you'd be interested. I can imagine you've added a whole lot of bands/albums to the database. So if you want the number of band/album edits you've made to show up on your profile (always fun to see how much you've contributed!), just create a news article (for the statistics to show up you need at least 1 of each: soundoff, news article, band edit and album edit). I think that's how it works anyway, worked for me and I'd like to see if it turns out to be true!
| WashboardSuds sweet thanks dude, I'll check these out right away. you're awesome man
| WashboardSuds know of any unique female electronic/hip-hop albums, or japanese electro pop I might like?
| undertakerpt anything you can recommend that is similar to mr bungle?
| gosk8n thnx man! and i see you made a japanese electro list i'll check those out too
| gosk8n oh and also where do you find all your japanese music from
| gosk8n he there i see you like de de mouse i wanted to ask if you knew any more Japanese artist like him
| TRMshadow Ever checked out FLOW? Pop-punk from Japan; they've done a couple anime openings which is what got me into them, but they're a pretty solid band (for the genre) in their own right.
| TRMshadow It seems like I keep running into your name wherever I go, so let me just say this. You have absolutely phenomenal taste in music. I wish all the guys here at sputnik were like you; equal love for the mainstream as well as the unknown.
| FictionalFlames Fair enough, I thought you didn't know about them. But if you're an optimist I recommend their new album.
| FictionalFlames After seeing a few of your Japanese music lists. Personally, I'm surprised you haven't included Galneryus in any of your lists.
| foxblood dude holy s*** you like tokyo girls style? they're probably my favorite girl group at the moment
| SisterSalt Whoops, double-post. Still getting the hang of the site, and also not awake yet.
| SisterSalt I've noticed your name around a lot of the Japanese band pages that I like (often as the only contributor) so I thought I'd come say hi! I went through a huge J-Rock phase a few years ago... a quick peek at my profile will tell you which bands stuck. ;)
| SisterSalt I've noticed your name around a lot of the Japanese band pages that I like (often as the only contributor) so I thought I'd come say hi! I went through a huge J-Rock phase a few years ago... a quick peek at my profile will tell you which bands stuck. ;)
| Slothy I like Uchoten (and the work of Kera solo); and Tomo Furukawa also. Thanks for everything!
| Mabbitt Blood Stain Child are pretty good too...but I don't really know TOO many bands
| Mabbitt I really like 2side1BRAIN, and I know they're the typical choices, but Dir En Grey and X Japan too.
| WashboardSuds yeah i did like Dos, its pretty chill stuff! and I've been craving new stuff so I'll look into the novembers right away. lol
| WashboardSuds soulful japanese pop sounds like exactly my thing, thanks for the heads up. checking out immediately
| Streams I thought so too. I hope their new material is better. Just thought you'd be into it because you're into avant garde stuff.
| Streams You should check out the Rest album
| ultradevilgod Ok dude...i never thought slapshock would be known to other countries. They're just an average rap metal group that got big when the NU-metal genre exploded.
| ultradevilgod One of your best Nu-metal bands is slapshock? Never thought there name will show up in Sputnikmusic other than Urbandub. You pinoy dude?
| MoninguMusume Haha. I haven't really heard any of Sharan Q's songs, though I really like Tsunku's voice.
| MoninguMusume Thanks! I love your Tsunku profile pic. :) Morning Musume was...I believe the 2nd? female Japanese group that I had heard of. I ADORE Morning Musume....the girls are my life basically.
| X3ni92 Haha thats pretty sweet :D Thanks for letting me know (:
| X3ni92 Oh yes of course, Morning Musume is part of Hello Project.
| X3ni92 Not into it either, i'm sorry ):
| X3ni92 I haven't..they aren't really my style though.
| X3ni92 Haha yeah great band d:
| X3ni92 So i checked them out, not to shabby.
| X3ni92 You should check 'em out. They're electropop with hints of Jazz.
| X3ni92 Have you ever heard of Humming Urban Stereo o:
| loppakslusk Thanks! Nice artist album contributions, most of the japanese stuff I rated was yours, hahah.
| X3ni92 Oh so what can be suspected as troll ratings such as too many 1's or 5's for a certain band. Right, happened to me once.
| X3ni92 Oh really now? That's odd...what do you mean by category though?
| X3ni92 Woah, what happened to all of your ratings? lol
| X3ni92 ****, you passed me in ratings D:
| BSX I'll check them out
| BSX I'd kill to them live, they're the only J-Rock band I follow
