| Dedes Pon u jam new Sulfur Aeon it uhhhh might actually be their best
| Dedes Nah mate it wasn't me, I only just heard em maybe a week ago. Rly prime neoclassical/darkwave stuff that's all over the top theatrical and morose. Been on a massive darkwave/dark folk binge lately so this s***'s been hittin hard.
| Dedes Pon you ever jam Ophelia's Dream
| Pikazilla double it and give it to the next person
| Pikazilla what are your review cliches and why aren't they insertable
| KnickFurey Pon. What you been jammin recently fren?
| Sowing Please shoutbox me with an email address to associate you with our new forum. I'll remove the shout from my profile once I've emailed you the link to access it. Thanks in advance!
| KnickFurey Natura is the only Scelsi I've checked so far, but I think its still my overall favorite at the moment.
| KnickFurey Pon! Really enjoying Ligeti at the moment. Requiem is probably my favorite by him so far. Matrix 5 is also very good!
| Slex Confused n unnerved me to the point that I reactivated my shoutbox, u win
| MiloRuggles Pon! Hearts, luv, etc. I have a feeling that some of the performances on here will tickle your fancy: https://ideologicorgan.bandcamp.com/album/the-heart-sutra-arranged-by-janel-leppin
| KnickFurey I have dabbled in it a bit here and there, but I am mostly a noob :) Tyvm for the recs, these look promising! Penderecki was on the list to check out so definitely excited to give it a go!
| Dedes Also idk how much you like the idea of Tech-Death songwriting meets BM atmosphere but if that sounds sweet to you jam Tomarum-Ash in Realms of Stone
| Dedes Ah but you would be mistaken, of those I have only heard Artificial Brain which was so gosh darn friggin good. Honestly may be the best work they have ever put out, that t/t opening gurgle still brings a fat grin to my face. Def should jam Inanimate Existence, always see them tossed around and figured they probably slap but never got to em'.
| Dedes Call it blasphemous but I actually think I almost enjoy the guitar work of Verberis more? Maybe it's because it's a little more immediate and easy to latch onto, idk. Not quite the cacophonous swarming black hole that is Ulcerate but definitely a more straightforward gut punch (well, relatively). Glad u dig it man, kind of leaned away from DM for a bit but it's got me really wanting to jam some s*** that sounds dense and heavy. Any good recs for that recently or nah?
| Dedes Hey pon u jam Verberis Jamie St Merat is in the band and whew hot damn do they slap stupid hard
| KnickFurey Hey Jac. Do you have any recs similar to Scelsi: Natura Renovatur? I listened to it recently and absolutely loved it.
| Orb Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuure ;]
| Orb Damn, your objectivity and average rating scores are making me moist
| EphemeralEternity Thanks I'll give those a listen although I have no idea how to judge classical music or what to do with my hands whilst I'm listening to it. I guess I'll just go for the classic 'do I like the way this sounds?' test.
| EphemeralEternity For reasons unbeknownst I have an impetus to listen to classical - what are the main pieces I should listen to and what are their best renditions (I don't know what that word means)?
| CottonSalad New Monteverdi record by Collegium Vocale Gent. It?s stunning
| Rowan5215 can I come back to temple lol I really miss y'all hug emoji
| Pikazilla greetings, it is such a lovely day today
| Dedes Life's pretty rad rn now man. Jamming some Sulfur Aeon and mackin on homemade baked ziti. Diced some prosciutto in it and melted some fontanella cheese and oml I've transcended brother
| Dedes Hey dawg nice new av hyd

| DavidYowi i've heard there's a sput discord. Can I join?
| CottonSalad Hahahah, fair enough - I fell down a Kairos hole a few years ago ala Beat Furrer, but it?s definitely not my go to outlet
| CottonSalad I see you don?t like Pierluigi Billone very much? Haha
| Orb https://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/84288/Ferrara-Ensemble-and-Crawford-Young-Figures-Of-Harmony-Songs-Of-Codex-Chantilly-c1390/This ones for you!
| Rowan5215 not much has changed since I left irl. really wish I could, I miss y'all but I think it'd just be putting myself in a bad headspace again. hug emoji
| Orb Figures of Harmony - Songs of Codex Chantilly c.1390 by Ferrara Ensemble is something YOU NEED to hear my friend
| EvoHavok Yoo, Jac! Happy (belated) holidays! For the most part I've been at home in safety and with work (my job does not require me to be at the office at all, luckily), so nothing terribly exciting overall, although I did manage to catch some live shows in early autumn, when the situation was more lenient here. Sometimes I am not doing that great mentally, yet overall I can't really complain. And yeah, I don't really post that often, but I'm still lurking, haha. How about you?

| JohnnyoftheWell Mayhap, and yet the userbase would hang you for that sour sour take. I very much want to play Elden Ring right now.
| JohnnyoftheWell lmao indeed, but that would have needed to be its own interview. maybe there should be a staff souls chat at some point hmm
| JohnnyoftheWell Oh lol one liners are okay for that (or did you para spam??)
| mechamagica more of a spiritual ban because i don't know if people like me. yea, sure

| parksungjoon ah its ok then no worries. just feel kinda hypocritical that im reporting other multi-accounts but somehow still have that one. dont think anyone should have that kind of influence
| parksungjoon i think ive told the meds before but they wouldnt take me at my word since i cant prove it was mine
| parksungjoon this is an account that i used very briefly but i dont know the password anymore so i cant really prove its me other than the osdm ratings squarepusher love, commenting style etc. id like the ratings wiped if possible https://www.sputnikmusic.com/user/eldritchnovelty

| Pennywise_M Hey man. You too. I do recall to you fondly, as well as to my more active times in the website when we used to crash threads together. Hope I find you well.

| SIMBOLIC On the Mt Rushmore of Sputnik retards with Skele, Snox and Snide hahahaha
| SIMBOLIC "I still live and die by the riff m/m/m/"Good to hear, was worried haha. Yeah from about 2017 to just this year I only really lurked.I kinda miss the toxicity cause s*** got wild haha. I miss going on an adncas list and just seing him get ****ing abused hahaha
| SIMBOLIC Sup dude? Trying to get back into the site whats new? And wtf is this 25% classical s*** lol i thought you were true dm haha
| SaneTBP Oh yeah, his work has retained its mystique because of that surely a bit more too. Not familiar with either of those two latter actually, anything from them you'd suggest for me to peep?
| SaneTBP hell yeah, I'm glad you did. Scelsi's such an incredible composer, who during these anxiety-inducing times gives me more strength to face whatever uncertainties there are with a sense of power and calm. Outside of it just like, being compositionally and texturally sick.
| Gnocchi I'm just in awe to be amongst such prolific god types. I'll happily man the front desk and serve my stint in the foyer.
| TaiL4ever May your AnnaintenA be sharpened, may your finger be delightfuL more transferred deliciously into words and writings and it will felt like Coca-Cola and cocoa spread into salaDs tbH when I read them, so like nourishments I don't read at aLL instead .... |

| SaneTBP oh yeah i was trippin ok :^)
| Gnocchi Now I know you?re watching I?ll get nervous haha
| evilford I will shed real tears the day u leave
| Orb Sign me up! It'll give me something to discord about other than altcoin investing lol
| evilford You better never leave this site
| Orb Hey ho what yo! Didnt think I'd actually get it! Guess I should get on the group discord then or something hey?
| osmark86 Cheers mate. You know one never leaves sput ;). It's a lovely corner of the interwebs afterall. Same for you ofc.
| hal1ax yayyyy. lmk what you think
| Gnocchi Still, a 4.8 doesn't exactly leave a lot of wiggle room.
| Gnocchi try that new Stargazer? Everything will probably be a let down after AD N. tho
| brainmelter I hate to ask but pls tell me youre going to do a write up for III
| evilford Yeah u right. It's literally ****ing perfect. It's beyond perfect. It pushed the boundary of the definition of perfection
| evilford Dude I've been thinking a lot about this....im probably more of a neurosis fanboy than anything but eif is probably the sole apex of music no joke
| hal1ax oh interesting. i've only checked slsk and torrent sites so far. i'll peep the stream then.
| hal1ax Still can?t find a leak of that new Ad Nauseam :[
| evilford Dude eif is literally right on the cusp of 4.3
| Parallels Congrats on 5 years though :) I trust that you find it rewarding, I know I've always found it fascinating and was curious what responsibilities/perks it entailed.
| Parallels Just dealing with life and enjoying the peace in living outside of the big city. Changed careers too. And it's just shellshock seeing so many comical posting users being staff now, lmao.
| hal1ax Ohhhh I?m on it. Thanks!!

| MiloRuggles Thanks! Still haven't gotten started on the choral stuff yet, playing catchup with the ol backlog, but it's comin soon
| Gyromania i didn't even know who you were talking about when you said helin bolek but now i remember. yeah i said some truly deplorable s*** i wish i could take back. genuinely very sorry for that
| Flugmorph look whos talking you colourful seducer
| MiloRuggles Definitely enjoyed it, had a surreal experience listening to it during a storm. No, the mistake was on my end regarding versions, I thought you were saying not to listen to the original for some reason that doesn't warrant further exploration. Anyhow, I shall keep digging in those circles when the need arises.Meantime, can I please get a rec or two for the choral/vocally-oriented pre-common practice stuff you mentioned? tyty xx
| MiloRuggles My g, I just listened to Earthing for the first time (the OG recording, sorry). Me oh my, that was something. Do you have a link to the other version you were referring to? My condolences to all the strings that are violated in the performing of that piece. Poor things.
| infectionmetal Hey mate, wondering if you'd like to hear some Peruvian death metal (https://www.sputnikmusic.com/bands/Infection/130265/)? Send me a PM for details. Look forward to your answer.
| evilford That'd be sweet but yeah probably won't happen. Just jamming parasignosis after prob like 5 or 6 years? Didn't see u in the thread was just like damn this is awesome I bet jac would dig
| evilford Bro you've heard mitochondrion right?
| Darius The Imposter I genuinely feel like i hurt him though. Maybe i didn't at all and im blowing this entire thing way out of proportion (likely tbh) but i cant help it man. My brain isnt working properly, and im too broke for therapy atm
| Darius The Imposter All i was trying to do was get us to appreciate our differences but i think i came off too harsh, i really do not know
| Darius The Imposter Oh that account is lost permanently man lol. I even called up discord support and said of they ca do anything they said if i misplaced the backup codes (which i did) there is nothing they can do. Pretty 5head move yeah. But then again what do i do that isn't these days lol
| Darius The Imposter I think i offended cas to the point where he hates me lol. I legit drove him offline. Can you do me a solid and tell him darius is really sorry
| Darius The Imposter I did it so many times over and over again that i couldnt take the feeling of being a burden on anyone any longer and impulsed my discord account. In another stroke of a distraught genius i removed the 2FA from my authenticator on my phone and i've misplaced the backup codes. So im essentially locked out of that acc permanently now lol
| Darius The Imposter Thanks. Im sick man. Im mentally ill. More and more my days and actions are just consumed by creeping paranoias that someway, somehow, everyone whos in my family or ive befriended i've wronged. I feel like im guilty of everything and i owe everyone everything. All i do is wrong people. It happens again and again. It happened just today with me and casavir. I don't know why i do it. I just cant stop. I hope you understand
| Darius The Imposter Please don't take anything i say personally man, I already feel mentally sick for what I did to Cas today. Im such an asshole at times but i swear i don't mean it lol
| Hyperion1001 havent been privy to how you aussies are dealing with it, but anything has to be better than how it's going in the US. oh well, at least i have a computer and some headphones. i think i could weather the apocalypse just fine with those two things lol.
| Hyperion1001 tbh i dont know anyone who's doing all that great considering the state of the world at the moment. i forget if you're in the states but everyone here is just pissed off lol.
| Hyperion1001 thanks man :) how are things? im back in a situation where being very online is more possible that it has been in a while so ill be around for a bit.
| Gameofmetal ok yeah compared to skaphe 2 the production is way less disorienting. I like the way the drums sound particularly and they shine with what feels like more laid back atmospheric sections but the blast beats can feel too dominating in the mix.
| Gameofmetal Ill get back to you when i give it a second listen on some not so s***ty desktop speakers, something from which i can actually judge the production lol
| Gameofmetal Still on my first listen and it's been so long since Ive listened to their other stuff but it seems good to me so far. I distinctly remember you having big beef with the production on skaphe 2
| MiloRuggles Hell yeah, could use some recs on that front. I tend to listen to classical while I read, and there aren't many books that call for atonal wankfests as a soundtrack haha. Will report back once I've got time to get through your recs. I'm goin bush for a few days and have committed most of my free time for the next while to projects I haven't even started yet, so there shall be a delay
| MiloRuggles Legend, I'll work my way through. Only listened to Penderecki out of them, so plenty of homework for me to do. Plug or not, textural is an adjective that never fails to get me randy. I'll jump into that first. Also, how have I not heard that first Tim Hecker LP? My life is a mess. ty xx
| MiloRuggles Your ratings are outrageously balanced. I feel bad for liking everything. Teach me how to hate.Anyhow, I see you like wild s***/classical. What's the most balls-to-the-wall classical release you've heard?
| GamamJ Thanks man! Solid recs. Love Don Cherry! Gonna check Penderecki who I haven't previously heard of too now.
| GamamJ Oh yeah. I remember first thinking Avant-Garde jazz would never be for me, thinking it just sounded like random noise hahah. I could barely handle modal-jazz at the time. Now there is something about the undescribable chaos that just attracts me. Much of the base of this site is certainly metal-oriented, but yeah, there's a lirttle jazz(and classical)-collective hahah. Got any more recs for me? I'm a huge fusion and free-bop like shape of jazz to come fan fyi.
| GamamJ Okay, sorry for the spam, but have gone through both Ascension (both versions) and Unit Structures now. It is interesting, becuase even though I can barely grasp any copherent ideas, there is something about the clusters of chaotic sound and accenting that keeps pulling me back. Gonna give both a few more spins and get back to ya.
| GamamJ Wow, listening to Ascencion now. I had no idea Coltrane had the ability to be this atonal. Guy is completely off-key, but makes it work brilliantly. Should be a great listen.
| GamamJ As for For Alto; yeah, it has some nice moments, it's just at least to me it's too damn long. Assuming it's a multiple spins type record though.
| GamamJ I will check them out! I am after all more into a band setting, so that is only good hahah. Love Coltrane and Cecil. No idea how ai have yet to hear Ascension. Btw never got back to you on the fact that I am thoroughly enjoying Deeds. Just some reliably solid Brutal Death Metal with lots of intricacies.
| trilo fair, it's a frickin mess but a beautiful one i don't wanna clean up
| trilo jam new cryptic shift plz
| GamamJ Hey bro! I know you like your dissonance and atonality, so I wanted to rec you Anthony Braxton?s ?For Alto?. Has to be the ugliest hour of music I have ever heard. Curious to know what you think.
| evilford hey friendo check ulcerate, they is are good
| Archelirion yeah I'm back for my annual few weeks of activity :3 which i think was around September last year too...
| Orb Likewise buddy! Howve you been? Its been a wild ride since my hiatus but Im happy to be back. I wanna aim to land contributor status and really start pushing out reviews and get on promo lists in the dnb and deep dub scenes. Whatever's next tho, I missed this community and the diversity of music it exposes us to. Its not something to take for granted!
| GamamJ Yeah, I can see that for sure.
| GamamJ Hey, thanks a lot for the Equipoise rec! They?re fantastic! Here is one for you: Voidcerwmony. A semi-BDM band with jazz influences. I think they are quite good.
| Atari Cheers!! I?m excited to explore some of these. If somehow you haven?t heard the new Disavowed from this year it?s pretty fantastic imo
| MillionDead Yeah, I have them saved but I haven't checked them out yet. I should soon!
| MillionDead Spotify links? Maybe. Did you shout box me stuff or were they in a thread?
| GamamJ I had not heard of Equipoise! THank you. Yeah, that's what I feared with Defeated Sanity... Oh well. Thanks a lot for the recs! Will check 'em for sure. Familiar with Deeds of Flesh. Decent. When I'm first at it, I don't know what jazz/fusion you listen to, but probably avant-garde dissonant stuff I'd imagine. Still, any chance you'd have anything in the Brand X, Mahavishnu, Return to Forever fusion category or just quality hard-bop and free-jazz for me?
| GamamJ Ah, oh well. Also, are you familiar within Beyond Creation, Necrophagist, Gorod, Forst Fragment-esque tech-death? If so, got any recs? Or actually I would love some more brutal jazzy stuff like Defeated Sanity. Pure BDM mostly bores me these days, but pop jazzy wank in there and I love it.
| GamamJ Hey man, refreshing The Sanguary Impetus daily hoping for a Jac review.
