3.5 great | cryptside | January 23rd 14 | DMIR are one of those bands that I want to defend constantly. I want to say that they aren't like the horde of metalcore bands that aren't doing anything interesting in the world of music, but the truth is that I just enjoy what they are doing on their self-titled. The vocals are erratic, as is the songwriting, but it works in favor of the album. Meatheaded breakdowns give way to gorgeous, melodic clean guitar passages. It is simple, by-the-books metalcore, done better than most of the masses.
