4.0 excellent | GenNarain | February 8th 10 | This album is simply awesome. You got your heavy, go-balls-out wild parts, and your catchy sing alongy parts (sing along if you know whats going on of course). Plus, you gotta love the Death Note songs in there. MTH FTW

3.5 great | zaruyache | February 5th 17 | Not quite as good as "Yoshu Fukushu" or "Rokkinpo Goroshi", but still a solid slab of j-pop/power rock/alt-nu metal/pop punk.

5.0 classic | Jared Floryan | February 4th 15 | At one point in my life, I used to fall madly in love with Maximum the Hormone. There were one of those bands who could borrow a fuckload of tired aspects from mainly the nu metal and punk rock genres - and abruptly make them out to be quite unconventional, but most notably entertaining as well. Buiikikaesu in its entirety is one gay old time after another, showcasing MTH at their very best. All the songs off this album are a bit varied just as much as they are simplistic and cheesy, though guitarist and singer Ryo Kawakita's composition duties transcend enjoyability enough for me to not really write the tracks off. If there's anymore consolation, it also helps that the bandmates are having a blast with the material; Maximum the Hormone's overall sound and attitude towards their recordings can be likened to a pre-One Hot Minute incarnation of Red Hot Chili Peppers or System of a Down to some extent. In conclusion, Buiikikaesu boasts memorable tunes, uber-coordinated musicianship, and a fun aura around it that never ever tests the listener's patience.

5.0 classic | EcoChocolatacchi | January 8th 15 | Stylistically vague, and with an ambiguous theme, this album is the black sheep among my 5s. Except I'm pretty sure nothing I've heard has this amount of raw energy from the entire band, often at the same time. Vocally MtH is a barrage of varying vocal ranges, encompassing every genre from rap, rock, metal, nu-metal, j-pop, opera, and jazz. on paper it should just sound like a mess, but its just so sonically pleasing. This is the type of music that both th listener and the musician would have a smirk or even a smile for the duration of the album... Only flaw is some melodies extend to long...I don't know if the whole "Japanese System of a Down" moniker would work for me but I get a mathcore vibe, not bad for something that got this big.

4.5 superb | TRMshadow | August 20th 12 | One of the weirdest things you'll ever hear... and at the same time, probably the most fun (that is if you like Japan.)rAnother way I like to describe this band is that they're the Japanese equivalent of early (good) SoaD; totally f**king psycho riffs and a lot of aggression accompanied by the "pop" music of the time (in the US, nu-metal was the "pop", in Japan "J-pop" was used). a high 3.5 is where this album should really sit musically, but I'm gonna give it a 4.3/5 for nostalgia and personal preference sake.

5.0 classic | BigHans | July 25th 11 | Like a Japanese System of a Down on crack and happy pills and some j-pop stuff thrown in Jesus Christ its a beautiful, delicously catchy brutal hilarious clusterfuck.

4.5 superb | Titan50 | May 22nd 11 | Few albums are this unique and diverse. The actual music featured isn't terrifically original. What's fantastic is how they manage to smash everything from death metal to cheese-pop into such a chaotic yet controlled frenzy and make it seem so effortless. It's also fun as FUCK. You can tell the band are having a ball; the speed doesn't halt for a second, and the three vocalists go from stupidly fast rapping to death growls within a few seconds.rPure. Fucking. Fun.

3.0 good | TonyCocaCola | January 31st 11 | There's some obvious work needing to be done, there are some songs where it sounds like it could be great, it just needs a little more work. Yet other songs demonstrate a unique, fun, and adventurous sound. The spastic energy is their strongest trait. The last half of the album is better than the first.

4.5 superb | Rabio | February 6th 09 | This album wins. They're not just your average obscure J-Rock band. Japanese SOAD, but better and probably a tad crazier.
