Perfect amount of familiarity and newness. Infectious guitar riffs, mesmerizing vocals, and thought-provoking lyrics. Greyhaven haven't lost a beat since their breakout record, Empty Black. Early AOTY favorite.

Ever since the disappointment that was currently the last and final Every Time I Die album last year I have been dying for another great metalcore and alternative metal hybrid album. Well, this debut album from Greyhaven really is exactly that. Dense lyrical content over both lush and dense cleans and screams while having some great instrumental backdrops that are clean enough to keep your head from hurting but also raw enough to feel real. A great listening experience that might be a niche genre and sound but if you like the aforementioned Every Time I Die, then this will be right up your alley.

Big improvement over the last record. The band learned how to write riffs beyond mathy weedly-weedlies, and how to write choruses that aren't just the same lyrics repeated over and over. Drum tones sound like shit as is typical of Will Putney but overall, good record.

Greyhaven continue to take ETID's spot within the metalcore food chain. They still got those alt linings, but this time it's more mathy than proggy. That ain't the point, though: the songs aren't as effortlessly catchy as the ones on their 2018 banger of an album. And the mixing sounds too compressed to my taste.
