I love when a mature artist grows past pop ploys and turns into reflecting, musically-progressive, wordy bard. Glen Hansard has been inching towards this persona forever, but with the last album, and all the more so with this one, he has completed his metamorphosis. In a superb display of virtuosity and lyrical finesse, Hansard makes what may be his most solid work yet, but does not lose sense of accessibility for those hesitant of trying out longevous meta-folk excursion.
