more garbage hip pop about girls, fame and money. ugh.. boring... NEXT! hes not even a rapper. this is
trash, the guests suck and drake actually thinks hes not being offensive to women... all he talks about is
fucking chicks wtf. G-A-R-B-A-G-E. do not listen to this, every song is the same. i would give him a
slightly higher rating since he's new but he thinks he's the greatest thing in hip hop. he has no flow,
no meaningful lyrics, no good guests, no good beats. nothing here is even worth listening to.
Unforgettable and Light Up are the worst songs. Unforgettable features Jeezy (just what we need, two
insanely terrible "rappers" on one track) and Light Up has Jay-Z, who still thinks he's so great. He hasn't put
out a single good album since 1996! Get over your ego Jay, you fucking suck!

Drake represents everything that is wrong with modern Hip-Hop. Boring production, passionless vocals and some of the worst lyrics I've ever heard. To put things in perspective, the album is slightly better than Soulja Boy's new album.

Better than his mixtape/previous EP tbh. However, still doesn't hold water when placed next to most hip-hop artists of his genre. Sounds like an even blander version of Kanye's 808s. I'll give this a 2.5 since he is still a youngster trying to find his sound.
While i've got your attention though you should go check out Eminem's Recovery. It is 1000 leagues greater than this.

Amazing primarily pop rap/R&B with personal Drake twists and a story about a young man
thrust into his fame and having to assure himself that he's worth it. Not as artsy as So Far
Gone or Take Care but Aubrey and 40 still knew how to write fantastic poppier songs.

Terrible... Some of the lines are just so dumb i want to kill myself. "Wu-Tang niggas want that cream".. wow
doesnt even make sense. "All my friends out partying while i make the music they party to, so party on
party on". What was he thinking? Every song is about how terrible his poor, famous life is. Drake, I mean
this in the best way possible. Shut the fuck up. Your life is just fine so stop complaining about it. When i
hear 16 year old boys listening to this it makes me sick. Even girls shouldn't listen to him. This idiot barely
qualifies as a rapper.
Alright, i gave it a slightly higher rating due to some good production, a few good guests, and some pretty
good songs like "Up all Night, "Light Up" and "Miss Me". However it's still boring, generic and overrated and,
like Public Enemy said in 1988, "don't believe the hype".

Severely lacking jams to pull it upwards, but not annoying enough to be sub-2.5. 1 is clearly the hardest jam here, and kind of the only one. I was worried about the feats, but I have to say they're really successful and sometimes even the strongest part of the track. The two ends of the album, 1-3 and 10-13 (14 is pretty meh) are the strongest by far, especially 10 and 11. 13 is catchy but it feels like it's a cover I can't put my finger on. In its middle the album feels a bit like Drake hasn't gotten over the 2000's yet, and a lot of instrumentals or choruses are very questionable, most tracks are pretty annoying or boring and there isn't a lot to retain rally. 4 does have a cool instrumental, but there's just too much that doesn't work to retain much else really. This drags the album down a whole lot to a 2.6

Lyrically, that’s mostly what Thank Me Later thrives on: even when he’s pleading some anonymous love interest to “put those ***in’ heels on” or boasting as he does on “Over,” he sounds delightfully sincere, and that undeniable “everyman” charm shines through. Although he’s grateful for his success (he even makes sure to thank mentor Lil’ Wayne on the lush opener, “Fireworks”), he knows that a lot of the appeal of his sleeper hit mixtape So Far Gone was that of the underdog (bar a few A-list guest spots, it’s inarguable that the kid basically rose to the top on his own), and so it is with Thank Me Later, even if he’s now as much of a household name as many of the people who help him out by throwing in verses and such. In fact, now he’s helping them out as much as they are him, a healthy relationship inadvertently summarized in this little exchange between Bun B, formerly of UGK, and the man himself on “Miss Me”: “Drake, you got ‘em, right"” urges Bun B, to which Drake coolly replies, “Yeah, I got ‘em, Bun.”

Overzealous: certainly, 808s coattail-riding: at times and I'm grateful, cocky: quite, sappy confessional: awkwardly so. But it all sure makes for some remarkable themes. The dominant one being dealing with newfound fame: enjoying its endless perks while also feeling hesitant and overwhelmed as hell. The star of the show has the words and lots of em, but is a bit newbish when it comes to flow (especially when compared to his guests, who all provide excellence). But it comes across as authentic, which is what's really important here. And when he wants to, he can really work it: I believe him when he says he's "been up for four days making money both ways", I'm almost positive he's not looking for pity when he admits to calling "some chick I met at the mall that I barely know at all" instead of Grandma in the nursing home, and he's smart enough to ask himself "what am I doin'?".

I was excited to hear this album at first because of all the acclaim Drake got in general. I was disappointed, though, because it sounds like he just casually drifted his way through this whole thing.rThe album is bogged down by filler and packing it on with guest stars as if that could save it. Where Drake should be defining himself as a rapper and showing audiences who he is, he spends most of the time playing second fiddle to other already-established rappers who flaunt themselves about.rIt was an incredibly disappointing release, and has not aged well in the slightest.

So his one-liners are painfully corny and should have been excised. So it has the "808s and Heartbreaks"
vibe. So he uses the same flow too much. So it's not quite as good as "So Far Gone"...so what? The
production is by FAR the best I've heard all year and the songs are mostly growers. "Fancy", "Show me a
Good Time", "Shut it Down", "Find Your Love", "Thank Me Now", "Over", "Light Up" and "Unforgettable" are
straight-up bangers. Give it some time, ignore the hype, and listen with an open mind...at least it's not
"Rebirth".

I still wouldn't consider this a great album, but some songs on here (really just tracks 4-7) are just really good songs. Sneaky bastard. .....I thought this album was up? Guess someoned it. I was thinking that i would hate this album. However Drake works his melodies and beats like a charm despite his lyrics being decent at best (but certainly an improvement from his mixtapes). It's good he got a number of guest spots to help him throughout the album. Drake might live in his post-808 & Heartbreak sound for a while but on Thank Me Later he pulls it of well.
