Unexpectedly (at least to me), I Am Nemesis is Caliban's most focused, heaviest, and cohesive album yet. You'll hardly find the predictable screamed verse-clean chorus song structure that seems to haunt modern metalcore bands these days. Instead, I Am Nemesis is chock full of atmosphere and emotion; more so than any other Caliban album.

Very cool album. I expected something quite better than their previous releases but this
album is something special that I've never heard from them so far. Especially when I focus
on clean vocals I see a big improvement. All in all this album kicks ass !

Maybe they will never be influential and groundbreaking band but they're getting significantly better with every release. I Am Nemesis is almost perfectly executed melodic metalcore: catchy, emotional, energetic and reasonably heavy as it should be. Production is top notch.

"I Am Nemesis" is a beautiful Metalcore option with seasoning within a genre so condensed and without much differentiation. The pity is that it seems that this is the only work from the band that really risks to look for something bigger in their sonority. As i always quote here, innovation is always important, even more in a feature-shortage style, such as contemporary Metalcore.

Such a great album in every aspect of the word. Vocals have improved, lyrics are still good, and they are able to incorporate different metal sounds into one cohesive kickass album which is the main reason why these guys have always been so good. Edge of Black is my personal favorite. Such a badass song that's definitely heavy but offers a very catchy chorus with nice cleans. Easily their best album to date due to its completeness and variety.

While it might not reinvent any wheels or offer something groundbreaking in any way, but this is one solid album that shows how these Germans are able to take musical genres like Metalcore, Deathcore and Melodic Death Metal, pull them apart and put them back together to offer something that is intense, fresh and radically better from what 99% of bands out there offer.

Very good record, the melodies and cleans don't feel forced and actually make the songs better instead of ruining the distinctive atmosphere. No weak links and musically far more creative than recent American releases of the same genre.
