"bro wtf are you even on about"
haha just explaining my joke i know it doesn't make sense. just the vibes it gives me. i think when i cant fathom how people like something i start reaching a bit for an explanation. also it amuses me to say my stupid thoughts about music i dont like and see how people react

im not saying its about spoiled white people, its just an example of the kinda person i could see liking this as theyre typically the ones who like superficial music with this style of generic vocal effects that i cant stand. also it just reminds me of the introspective stoner types ive interacted with who happen to mostly be spoiled white people

Especially when they are in McDonald’s, or on a night bus
Some kid is always in the back with their hoodie up humming “shouldn’t be alone, shouldn’t be alone”

bumping this down a little, but fuckin yikes at the mental gymnastics it takes to imply that people from disadvantaged backgrounds don't have the capacity to relate to music unless it has obvious/topical lyricism, or that abstraction is purely for privileged white kids

It was one example lol I technically am a spoiled white kid myself tbf. "unless it has obvious/topical lyricism" that was your inference of what i said. also the album does have lyrics, lets not forget the brilliant "you lied" on the t/t. my prejudice is more coming from the stock vocals i generally associate with poppy electronic tracks (pls tell me about the great miasma of lower-class minorities in the US that listen to poppy electronic music) and the lack of melody and depth in the music that results in everyone coming up with stupid analogies of what the music reminds them of which i generally associate with overdramatic introspective people which sue me also fits the bill. but i dont wanna do another page filler with you on this one buddy because i know these are fleeting and "mental gymnastic" type thoughts as you put it and am kinda just messing around/reaching to explain my original joke of a comment. glad to hear you dropped your rating : )
